Cold Stone Creamery — Restaurant in McKinney

I have visited twice now. The first was in the evening and we all came as a family to eat ice cream inside. When we walked in the first scent was Fabuloso, the cleaner. The workers were blaring rap music not fit for kids ears. I couldn’t wait to get out of there. The second was in the afternoon and we came in with our kids and were scolded at by what we assume was an owner working in the corner. We were holding them as they’re both little and no one was yelling or deserved the look we got. We got our ice cream to go as it still smelled strongly of Fabuloso. One woman behind the counter was nice enough, but not enough to make me want to go back. When we got home I could TASTE the Fabuloso scent in my ice cream. Called and placed an order for a cake to pick up the next day. Called and confirmed my order the night before. Called the day of to make sure it was ready, and they can’t find my order. Told me to call back for the manager, called back an hour later, told to call for the manager again. I wanted a refund at this point, told them I would be going somewhere else. I called another bakery and while I’m on the phone the manager called me (not from the store number or I probably would have answered) and leaves me a voicemail that they have my cake. When I call her to let her know I would need a refund she tried to tell me that I should’ve have described what was written on the cake to the first person I talked to. I guess they can’t find your cake by confirmation number or name? Just by what’s written on there. Horrible customer service by both people...

Biggest shoutout ever to Medha (hoping I’m getting the name right, I misplaced the paper I had your name on :( ), who made my first visit to a Coldstone in a while an absolute dream!! I had come from some grueling medical tests and needed a pick-me-up, and she had the most stellar service to me and my mama. A beautiful smile, polite service, and care for customers that is always a delight to see. Medha packed my ice cream full of my favorite mix-ins (a birthday cake remix with cookie dough, since it was my birthday) and wished me a happy birthday. Every detail of our exchange just made my day and I wanted to shout her out!! Keep up the good work, you totally made my day!!
