Boy I'm so angry right now I don't even know where to start. We have ordered delivery here twice. I understand that we are border line out of their delivery area but we have always taken care of the drivers. We tip about 50% and have ordered $50 worth of food each time. I think that's better than most tips a driver can make in s 30 min drive. I got a call saying the driver wouldn't deliver to us. The manager then hung up on me! Hung up the phone! Yes I was angry because I feel tipping a driver $25 to drive food to me is being more than generous. But I guess it's not. I also called in my order at 6:30 and asked them to deliver after 8:00 so the driver wouldn't have to run all over the place then try and deliver mine and have to go back to deliver more. Kind of like a "deliver when you can" no big deal. I think that's reasonable. Now for the food. The food is ok. For the money it's not worth it. We do it because we are like anyone else and on lazy nights it's nice to have someone make and bring you food. If I had other options they would be my last choice. I've ordered their chicken Alfredo and my wife their spaghetti and marinara sauce. The marinara sauce taste like they got it from Costco. It's the most bland and basic I've ever tasted but like I said we did it because we wanted to be lazy. My chicken Alfredo is food lion worthy. It wasn't anything to be excited about. Portions for the money are way to small. Thank god we had extra bread at the house and drank a lot of water or we would have still been hungry. We aren't over weight either. I will say their pizza is about the same as one of your other big box franchises that deliver. Again nothing to write home about. For their price I would call someone else. All in all if the manager wouldn't have hung up on me I would have given this place about 3 stars but with management like that there is no telling what they are doing with the food. If you choose to eat there I would just keep my complaints to yourself unless you've already gotten your food. Good luck...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been eating here going on 3 years now and I have had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with the owner on more than one occasion. He was always pleasant and accommodating when I would stop by for lunch. So what I am about to say baffles df out of me, but here goes. I was unable to stop by as I have done countless times in the past. So I decided to order directly from the site because several weeks prior I ordered through Grubhub who apparently employs individuals who are unable to read and follow simple directions. Anywho, placed my order on Roma's direct site and left detailed delivery directions. I even took additional precautions to inform the cashier and the driver prior to his departure. I informed the cashier that I work clear on the other side of the building and could not (nor should I have to) get to the Production break-room to pick-up food due to the fact that I am alone in the office and still have to check in drivers. I was told to not worry and that the driver would call me once he got close. I asked one final time and was reassured. No way any mistakes can be made, right? I left detailed directions with my delivery request both on paper and vocally? Boy was I wrong! Anytime you deliver food, I am pretty sure you are supposed to make sure you deliver to that individual. It is food for fux sake. Fast forward, I ended up not being able to eat that evening due to the inconsiderate actions of others. Someone else got to enjoy the fruits of my labor.
I had another exchange with the owner that very night; and let's just say he wasn't very accommodating. I will try to close this on a more positive note. If you can not get in to personally pick-up your food, don't bother the delivery...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBEST eggplant calzone I've ever had - and it was custom-made for me - an eggplant calzone with the sauce cooked right in the calzone, not served on the side. Ever since I've moved back to this area I've encountered difficulty finding a restaurant willing to cook the sauce into the calzone - most will only serve the sauce on the side. And not only was the chef at Roma's willing to accommodate me but it was the best eggplant calzone I've ever had! Even better than my homemade eggplant, and that's saying a lot coming from me. When I inquired about the possibility of it, the chef came out and discussed it with me to make sure he got it right. Then afterward he came back out to the table to make sure it was to my liking. My fiancee who doesn't usually care that much for eggplant also loved this calzone. We will definitely be going back to Roma's for more calzone! On a side note, their pizza is pretty terrific as well, but for me it was overshadowed by the discovery of the calzone only because of my excitement at finally locating a place willing to prepare it the way I like it. Hats off to the chef, hats off...
