â 1 Star Review â âSlapped Together, Drenched, and Dismissedâ
I donât normally leave reviews, but my experience at this Jimmy Johnâs location was frustrating enough to warrant one.
I placed an order through the app for myself and my brother. When we returned to our car and opened our sandwiches, we were both disappointed especially me. My sandwich was barely assembled, with an embarrassing amount of meat, way too much mayo, and hardly any mustard. It looked nothing like what I ordered, and none of the special instructions were followed.
I went back inside, politely asking for the issue to be corrected. Instead of being met with professionalism, I was greeted with scornful looks and a bitter attitude from the staff. The manager finally approached and asked for the sandwich. I gave it to her, thinking it would be remade properly.
Less than a minute later, she handed me what I thought was a fresh sandwich. But when I got back to my car and opened it up, I realized they hadnât remade anything. They had just taken the original one, slathered an overwhelming amount of mustard and mayo onto it, and handed it back completely soggy, sour, and inedible. It felt like a passive-aggressive attempt to shut me up rather than fix the issue.
My brotherâs sandwich wasnât much better overloaded with filler like lettuce, barely balanced, and just overall sloppy. It felt like quantity over quality, but even the quantity was in all the wrong places.
This wasnât just a bad sandwich it was a bad experience. The food was wasteful, the attitude was dismissive, and there was zero effort to provide good service or correct their mistake. If this is how customer concerns are handled, I have no interest in ever returning and Iâll be steering my friends and family...
Read moreI asked for the bread to be left in and they didnât, but the sandwich was still good. The real problem with what went wrong (I think) was because I didnât leave a tip.
I need to be clear here:
It is an absolutely wrong, horrible business practice to ask someone in a fast food restaurant with no table service to provide a tip, especially before you even receive your food to verify that it was made well.
The employees refused to acknowledge or speak to me once they realized I did not provide a tip. It was insulting and pathetic.
On top of that, when prompted for your payment, when it asks you for a tip, you actually have to hit OTHER at the bottom in order to enter no tip.
This is a high pressure, predatory, unethical business practice, and Jimmy Johnâs should not be doing this if they want to keep me as a customer of almost 20 years.
The next time an employee at Jimmy Johnâs treats me differently or poorly because I did not tip them for a service that does not warrant a tip, it will be the last time I purchase a Jimmy Johnâs sandwich.
It is absolutely ridiculous that they think they should be tipped simply for making my sandwich and handing it to me when I have to get napkins and bag the sandwich and serve my own drink to myself.
These people are not servers. There are no reservations as the sign in the store says. They make sandwiches and provide almost no other service.
Absolutely asinine, entitled, unacceptable behavior from a major...
Read moreThis happened a long time ago but I havenât ordered since. I ordered a sandwich and it took a while to get here so I called just to check up on it. Right away the man on the phone was extremely hostile, telling me he did drop off the order I didnât receive and accusing me of lying. I was waiting by my door in the living room the whole time and my dog would have barked. I didnât see a car pull up to my complex and my doorbell didnât ring. I can understand if they misplaced my order. The complex is a little weird and hard to navigate, and I know food service can be stressful. But I had never had that kind of uncalled for hostility right off the bat from a professional setting before. I didnât really know how to respond. I ended up getting a replacement order but I never wanted to order from them again since. I hope theyâve since hired some kinder staff.
I just wanted a sandwich but mostly what I got were uncalled for accusations and insults.
I used to really like Jimmy Johnâs and it was my first time having it since I moved from Texas to Oregon. But after that experience, it really ruined it for me. Been going to Subway since. They might not have better sandwiches, but at least the staff isnât needlessly...
