Accidentally broke my 1st party 360 controller and went here to get a replacement; the only ones they had were refurbished, which unfortunately didn’t work out because the sticks were a bit inaccurate with gaps in response at certain angles (well documented online when comparing 1st party controllers with original parts versus refurbs, which I found out after purchasing). We took it back within the hour to exchange and got a different refurbished controller with the promise that we could get a refund if it had the same issue, which unfortunately it did. At that point they were almost closed and I didn’t want to make a third trip in a day, also this was a few days before Christmas so life was very busy and I didn’t get a chance to return the 2nd controller until today.
When I did, I’m sad to say it was not a great experience because the employee frankly tried to hassle my partner, instead of a quick two minute return like it should have been it took close to 20 minutes because they didn’t believe us at first and also questioned why we hadn’t come back sooner (because we were very busy with life and were told we had a month to return). Also they made us wait to test out the controller but used a game that didn’t show the issue, it’s lucky we had a video of the exact problem with the game I’m playing (Mass Effect, issue with the refurbs was they weren’t precise and sensitive enough to properly select the weapon or power you wanted without a lot of extra effort, huge noticeable difference from my previous controller) or else I’m not sure they would have let us return. Also, we ended up having to take store credit even though whoever was working when we went in first said they would refund if the 2nd refurb had same issue.
I’m posting this mostly just to give some hopefully constructive feedback, which is that you probably shouldn’t hassle people who make the conscious choice to shop at your local store instead of any of the number of big chains where gaming items are available. Also, I just don’t quite understand how the employee today might have even thought we were trying to pull a fast one, because we had already returned the 1st refurb same day which means there was zero chance we had used the controller to complete a game and then returned it (which the employee today mentioned they’ve had issues with, and I understand that’s frustrating but clearly is not what happened here). Also we overheard another employee mention they’d had five 360 controllers returned within the last week, so it should have been obvious there was an issue with the refurbs themselves, in my eyes anyways. I’ll be back to spend our store credit and hopefully have a better...

Read moreI love stores such as this. Reminds me of being a kid before GameStop and EB games. This is one of the only places to get older games and consoles. Very reasonable pricing. They also have fun rare games items. Japanese vending machines. Fun game themes accessories. This place is like visiting a friends house who collects games and gaming memorabilia accept everything's for sale. Great...
