The new store is lovely, but there are some flagrant issues that need to be addressed. The first and foremost is the “customer service” given by coordinator “Andrea T.”. On multiple occasions she has been extremely rude and attempted to be demeaning which I merely find amusing. The first time I witnessed her berating an employee (the condescending tone was truly cringeworthy), the second was directed toward me when I didn’t bring in the plastic bags with my online order return (I’ve never brought them in before and it’s never been an issue, and took her literally a total of FIVE minutes to “handle” manually), and repeated over and over again that she needed them.
No, Andrea, you clearly don’t and while I would have been more than happy to save you the time on future orders I need to return, yet again your tone is tremendously unbecoming a customer service professional. I had to deal with Andrea a THIRD time while my TJX reward card was declined (the manager at Marshall’s offered to call for me the first time, so I know you were bold-faced lying when you said “there’s nothing we can do on our end you’ll just have to call again yourself,”) after calling and getting the “postal hold” lifted because they needed my updated address.
While I understand you may be under a good deal of stress, you need to realize, you don’t work in a state of emergency, you are allowed to take your time and be kind to people patronizing your store. As a former TJMaxx employee, I would highly encourage you to reevaluate your standards of care for people who come in to shop. There’s one gentleman in particular I’d like to commend but I was too busy looking for your name tag to catch his. I will be sure to update if/when I return with his to say thanks for his always genuine and helpful demeanor. Do...
Read moreA review from a TJ Maxx and Marshalls addict, as I visit at least every couple weeks or more. (I have the TJX Rewards card...this is full-blown enablement.) I moved from the Happy Valley/Clackamas area a little over a year ago, and I was used to my Clackamas TJ Maxx always having very scant selection. Their clearance was always picked over, etc. NOT SO with this one! They always have an abundant selection of clearance, bags, shoes, beauty products, home goods, and more!
I only have two complaints: I often come here at night, and the employees are friendly enough, but often very loud/gossipy as they're doing their floor duties. It's not that it bothers me personally, but I would certainly say it appears unprofessional and not customer-forward. Then again, I do know what it is like to work at such a place. I worked at the Downtown Portland Nordstrom Rack, as well as the Clackamas Rack, and let's just say the pay is so-so for the amount of clean-up and work involved. Yes, many customers are little piggies, and don't realize that employees actually have enough to do already without people creating additional and unnecessary messes! (End Rant!)
My only other complaint is that degenerate slobs and thieves often steal or destroy the beauty products. I will be looking over their selection, only to find broken makeup, empty boxes, etc. This is extremely disappointing, as it's often a nice product that I would have purchased, had it been intact or present. I think they could do a better job of securing these products to eliminate shrinkage and allow makeup junkies like me to actually BUY...
Read moreI had a nice shopping experience. Unfortunately, when I went to to pay I encountered a manager that had the biggest sense of entitlement and rudest customer service skills. This was the store manager, Alexis. I had taken up some clearance items to ask for the price. She proceeded to start detaching other clearance items that had already been rang up. She never once turned to talk to me and let me know or ask if still wanted them. I politely stated that if the price is being raised then I do not want them. She proceeded to speak to me in a very condescending tone of voice and tell me it was not her fault people changed stickers. I again, politely, stated that I understand but I just don’t want them at the higher price. Again, she condescendingly continued to speak to me about the tags as if I was arguing with you. She never looked up at me, smiled, explained what she was doing or even took the time to say one nice word, not even a hi. I then said to her that I was trying to do the right thing by bringing these items up and asking the price and she started to argue and lie to me that I never would have gotten away with the purchase as if I was the one that put the wrong tags on the boxes or was trying to steal something. There is no reason that I should have been made to feel this way when I had done...
