13 years in the area, first time trying. My full honest opinion is that this teeters between a 3.5 to a 4. I see a lot of the 1 star reviews screeching over poor service but the two employees that I saw were nicer than most other places. My underhanded rating comes from my desire for something more.

I think I was expecting to be "chasing the dragon" so to speak after a hot dog from a hot dog stand. I find that the flavor of a Nathan's hot dog is superior. The fries are above average. I have definitely had many other batches of fries elsewhere that were a dumpster fire of bad taste. And the cola was actually quite good - it was a brand I wasn't familiar with.

The issue that I take with the hot dog is that coming from the place known for hot dogs and incredibly high ratings, I needed more from it. Getting chili and cheese was probably my second problem. I know for a fact that it was store bought chili and cheese. I was sensing Hormel's canned chili. If you had told me that was made in house, I'd have to rate it a 0 out of 5 on it's own. Good chili does not remind you of the canned stuff.

The saving grace comes in two forms. Number one: price. The prices are on the lower side. I can't be mad at that. Currently, in the very beginning of 2019, the footlong combo with fries and a drink is $6.25. Good start. The other is that there is room for me to completely edit this review in the future, awarding them the 5 star glory seeker. I'd try other variations of hot dogs - playing around with topping combinations could improve the average hot dog. Also, I absolutely love a good po boy sandwich. I saw them on the menu and they seemed nicely price but that's without knowing the size of it. Stay tuned, I'll try Mustards again soon enough and revise as I see fit. The way I see it, 3.5 to a 4 is still a...

Today I had lunch with my family at the downtown Melbourne location. I asked the employee at the register if their hotdog buns contained any dairy or eggs. The employee just gave me a dead look and said I don’t know. He shook his head around as if he was thinking and then continued giving me the dead look, waiting for me to just move on. He did not offer to ask anyone in the kitchen to get any sort of info which is honestly the least he could have done. This is not my first time at Mustard’s but it is since going vegan. I saw on happy cow they have vegan dogs and beyond burgers but it was unclear if their buns were dairy-free. I also think this could have been solved by more explanatory labeling for allergens/dietary needs on the menu, but I understand it takes time for that. I was really looking forward to lunch but I ended up really disappointed by this interaction. Another customer asked the same employee if they were able to move tables around to accommodate their family and he said “I’m not the owner” and kind of scoffed. With the attitude he had, I would sure hope he wasn’t the owner. I have been to Mustard’s plenty of times before and the service is always super friendly. Just sucks that today might have been my last visit, at least at...

Went for lunch, ordered 2 cowboys and garlic fries. Absolutely not worth the money spent - can absolutely make better at home than these guys. Tasted insanely basic. The "garlic fries" was legit just raw garlic sprinkled on some frozen french fries. The dogs themselves were very underwhelming and bland. Its a hot dog stand so the expectation bar wasn't very high to begin, but they still completely missed.

As far as service goes? TERRIBLE. Now, it was busy, so at first seeing that It was busy, that gave me high hopes that the food was as good as the reviews were raving it up to be. So we expected a wait and we were hoping the wait would be worth it. We were sorely mistaken and very disappointed. We waited an hour to receive our food and within that hour we were absolutely skipped multiple times. We were just 2, and groups of 4 and 5 sat after us and all got their food before us, and were able to eat it and leave before we saw our food come at all. There was also another couple at a table across from us that were waiting on their food BEFORE US AND THEY DIDNT GET THEIR FOOD UNTIL AFTER OURS. How does that make sense???

All that waiting because they skip you here just for very lackluster food.

You won't see another dime from...

If you're of the responsible like, to focus on staying masked and socially distanced, be prepared to run into a bevy of patrons who blatantly aren't whatsoever. Aside from the hectic atmosphere (along with the overtly agitated staff, constantly having to remind new customers where to stand), it still remains one of Melbourne's best local eateries. The menu selection is remarkably vast, budget-friendly, and seems to always be innovating, whilst holding onto the main staples that have kept Mustard's reliable. Including vegetarian and seafood options, in case hot dogs and smothered side items aren't up someone's particular alley. My go-to's have always been the "Hula," the "Greek," and a dozen or so others. With their minced garlic dredged fries being a must! (Or the other plethora of ways they have available to dress up your crispy potato fix.)

Absolutely love Mustards! The family and I have been coming to them for many years for the best hotdogs in town! The specialty sodas are worth the trip alone! Do yourself a favor and come take down some dogs and fries here. You'll be a better person for it!

The Best Place to Get a Hotdog in the Western World. My wife found it odd that I would always try to find a good hotdog wherever our travels took us. NYC, Baltimore, DC, Philly, i'd always try to find a place that had good dogs, which would usually end in disappointment. In her mind, an Oscar Meyer with some ketchup was good enough. Unbeknownst to her, I grew up next to the Hotdog Mecca. My formative years could be traced back to this little stand in Downtown Melbourne. We ended up coming back to visit my hometown from Eastern PA and only had time for one place to eat. There was no question. With a list of what seems like a hundred hotdogs and solid sides, I could eat 3 square meals here a day and always have something different. If you find yourself within 50 miles of this place, make the pilgrimage.
