The Sun Shoppe & Cafe — Restaurant in Melbourne

This place has gone downhill over the last year.

The service is terrible. Lots of scrambling around, writing orders on scraps of paper, mistakes, etc. The last few times I've gone in my order has been messed up (a simple 3 coffee order), the most recent time one of the guys working accused me of doing it on purpose, saying I come in everyday and give the wrong order.

First off, what could one possibly gain from messing up their own order? I have never gotten anything for free and simply have to wait even longer to get the correct order. When I responded by telling him that he didn't even write down my order, he walked back to the counter and pulled out a small scrap of paper with some scribbling on it, saying he did (he didn't). He then refused to correct the order and when I asked to speak to the manager, he went over to him and pulled him aside (obviously to tell him whatever bs he was making up to cover for his own mistake). I got my refund and needless to say I wont be going back.

Besides for the service the ingredients used in the flavored coffees are terrible and the prices are outrageous.

Do yourself a favor and steer clear, I used to go because of location convenience to my job but will be making the drive to Starbucks or...

This place seemed to be really nice & crowded too as I did visit around lunch hours!! The grilled cheese was really good although I should have asked for tomato on it to help make it fresher & tastier um, but I also got one of those smoothies or whatever & it was horrible. I asked one of the ladies if she could do something about it & she literally broke her neck for a good minute or two looking at the smoothie that was served to me (which is sitting next to me where I was seated on the couch in the opposite side of the entrance & I was up at the counter asking her) she then had the nerve to look at me & tell me there was nothing she could do even though I told her I am allergic to coconut! So not only that but I worked an overnight shift, I had my work shirt on & my personal items with me. I worked hard for the $ I spent there & I was very tired! I was passing out on the couch because it was so god damn comfy but I promise you that I will never go back into the shop myself but I might do delivery if it is an option & my order will not include any of the smoothies or a rude...

Horrible service, I'm not 100% sure if that lady is the owner of this shop, but she need to learn how to treat every customer equally when they walk into that shop. I had a class in Melbourne near by the coffee shop for 7 days. I went to get breakfast there for 5 days straight sometime lunch. First, This lady can be busy in the kitchen once I'm doing purchase with the cashier, She comes verify the order as if I'm stealing or walking away with free food, mind blowing. Second, I brought to her attention that she gave the wrong, and burnt sweet bread. She just act I was to talking to a wall then walkaway to finish those other people breakfast. Unfortunately I had already spent $13. House Coffee is water down. Food is not that great either. The 2 Other cashiers are nice. The lady owner look at me by appearance which was very uncomfortable. I would spend my money else where next time. and I would not recommend this...
