Melbourne Civic Theatre, Inc. — Attraction in Melbourne

Just caught the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde performance here, since a friend was in the cast. And wow, I should have found this place sooner!

The theater itself is very small and intimate, which makes it hard to get a bad seat. Speaking of the seats, they are rather old, but they kindly provide a back pillow which makes it decently cozy. The concessions were extremely reasonable, with canned cokes costing $2 and beers $6. It also came with a kooky, which was nice since there are no cupholders.

The performers did an excellent job, and despite being a small troupe with a surely limited prop budget, the scene transitions made sense. I found myself enjoying every second of the play (which I wasn't sure if I would, since I typically don't enjoy historicals or long sit-down events), and afterwards I couldn't stop raving about it! I'm looking forward to catching another...

I attended "Lend Me a Soprano" by Ken Ludwig, directed by Peg Girard, on Friday, August 29, 2025. The performance was outstanding - explosive, energetic, and absolutely hilarious! If you're in Melbourne, FL, this play is a must-see. It explores the chaos that unfolds before an incredible opera performance.

The cast, including Tori Huss, Shane Frampton, Rich Klenotich II, Holly McFarland Kranes, Aaron McFarland Kranes, Ray Santana, Adonna Niosi, and Holly Stone, delivered performances worthy of Broadway. Each actor and actress was genuinely funny, fully embodied their roles, and executed each act flawlessly.

Congratulations to the entire cast for their immense talent and skill in the art of acting, as well as to Peg Girard for her fantastic direction. It was truly a pleasure to be in...

I wanted to give three and a half Stars. Sometimes they knock it out of the park and sometimes it just Falls flat. However that being said it is a enthusiastic , hard-working local theater it is a half round theater so you are always . Capital i involved with the stage it doesn't hold a lot of people the staff are incredible the chairs could be more comfortable but they're working on it! Every we donate , everytime time we buy a ticket, we make it better . therefore I recommend you go. my friends and I buy senior Flex passes which allows us to pick five shows out of maybe 6 or 8. there are matinees there are evenings and of course Melbourne is wide open for lunch and dinner afterwards all in all it's...
