Ah, the sweet memories of my birthday dinner at Acre Restaurant! Allow me to share the delightful highlights of this cozy little gem. It was an evening filled with attentive service, decent food, and an ambiance perfect for a romantic date or a cozy dinner with loved ones.
First and foremost, let's talk about the service. The staff at Acre Restaurant were on point, making me feel like the queen of the culinary kingdom. They were attentive, friendly, and had an uncanny ability to anticipate our needs. It was like they had a secret superpower of impeccable service!
Now, onto the food. The appetizers were a delightful start to our culinary journey. Each bite was a tantalizing blend of flavors, leaving us wanting more. As for the main course, most of the dishes we ordered were quite good. The flavors danced on our taste buds, showcasing the chef's expertise. However, there was one tiny blip on the culinary radar. My cousin's steak dish was a tad overcooked, which was a bit of a disappointment. But hey, we all have those moments, right? It didn't overshadow the overall experience.
Speaking of the overall experience, Acre Restaurant is the epitome of a nice, cozy place for a special occasion or an intimate dinner. The warm and inviting ambiance enveloped us, creating a relaxed atmosphere that made us feel right at home. It was the perfect setting to celebrate my birthday and create cherished memories.
So, if you're looking for a place to impress your date or enjoy a cozy evening with your loved ones, Acre Restaurant is a solid choice. The service will make you feel like royalty, the appetizers will tickle your taste buds, and most of the main courses will leave you satisfied. Just be mindful of the occasional slip-up in the kitchen, but hey, nobody's perfect!
In conclusion, my birthday dinner at Acre Restaurant was a memorable experience. With its cozy charm, attentive service, and mostly delicious food, it provided the perfect backdrop for a special celebration. Read moreSave your money and go to Iris. We were on a long weekend in Memphis, sampling their food and music. I called Acre a couple of weeks ahead (they don’t take online reservations (x1) and asked about their dress code. They said sports jackets were preferred. When we arrived almost every man was in a short sleeve summer shirt (x2). I ordered one of their seasonal gin cocktails and asked to make it a double because I like strong juniper flavor. The waitress made a face as if I’d just kicked a puppy and said it wouldn’t taste the same. Duh (x3). Not wanting to hurt her feelings this early in our relationship, I had a single. Later we ordered one of the two Viognier wines on their list. She returned to tell us that the Viognier was out of stock (4x) so we ordered the other one. She came back with a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon and began pouring it (x5). We corrected her and she retrieved the Viognier. I had the octopus appetizer, which was rubbery and the accompanying mushy beans (x6). When we were nearly done with our first course, a basket of bread arrived, 20 minutes late (x7). During most of the evening Tom Jones music was playing in the background (x8). For those of you under the age of 85, Google it. We were seated in a corner table overlooking a garden that had lots of poles for hanging plants, but no hanging plants (x9). After the sun set my wife and I could barely see each other since the table had no candle, lamp or overhead lighting (x10). When we were 75% done with our second course they brought us a candle, so they knew we needed a candle but didn’t know we needed it 30 minutes ago. Good food, okay room but they sourly need a front of the...
Read moreFirst time visit for a birthday dinner for two, and Sonia F. was our server. She was standoffish and not very expressive. I feel like we got a warmer reception from the hostess and other servers as we moved past them to our table. We were seated in the very back corner, which was suspicious, but ok. I like nature and looking out of the window, so I didn't ask to be moved. We were seated next to a larger birthday party, and she assisted that table and server better than ours. She didn't explain to us that bread was an extra charge after us waiting 30 minutes for our entrees and seeing it on other tables. I had to ask for it. It wasn't my preference as the outside is pretzel like and very salty, so maybe she's not a fan either. I asked her about substituting brussel sprouts with a steak entree (which she said they do not allow), making a joke to her about it being my date's birthday, and she quipped, "I don't own the place" in response. We should have left then, but he's a trooper. The steak was cooked very well and buttery. The short ribs were not my preference, but I was pleasantly surprised by the celery root puree (almost like potatoes) and the broccolini. The margaritas from the bar were great. I was completely done when she assisted the other party and brought out cake deserts for that table and hadn't even mentioned it to us. We locked eyes at that moment, and I knew that she was horrible. Lol! To add insult to injury, the valet brought his car around and took the keys to go get another car so we couldn't even make a hasty escape! 😂 Will never return, but thanks for...
