If I could rate this experience, it would deserve zero stars! We decided to have dinner at this restaurant, and upon arrival, we were met with an empty establishment. Now, in hindsight, I understand why it was so deserted. There were only three customers in the entire place, and there seemed to be more staff than patrons. We sat at our table for a frustrating 15 minutes before I took matters into my own hands and went in search of a server.
After an additional 7-8 minutes of waiting, a young server finally approached us. She looked barely of legal drinking age, yet she was serving alcohol. I ordered a drink, but to my dismay, it turned out to be nothing more than juice. I informed the server that I was willing to pay for it but requested a replacement. Much to my surprise, she informed me that they couldn't bring more than one drink to the table, leaving me stuck with a juice masquerading as a mixed drink. I refused to consume it.
We placed our food order, and within the next 5-7 minutes, our dishes arrived. To put it bluntly, what we were served was utterly disappointing. The rice was mushy, devoid of any individual grains, and the food was lukewarm despite the plates being scorching hot. The tortillas, initially scalding hot, transformed into bricks the moment they left their foil wrap. When we attempted to discuss this issue with our server, we were met with a perplexing response, as she insisted that we had left the tortillas out for too long. This didn't make sense to us, as we had only taken one tortilla out, and within a mere 3 minutes, the entire batch had inexplicably hardened into bricks. The server was adamant about us paying for another batch of old, unusable tortillas.
Additionally, no refills were offered, and we had to specifically request them. To our surprise, when we checked the bill, we were charged for these refills, with the explanation that they had to charge for every drink. This left us bewildered, as we had never received a complete initial drink to begin with.
In conclusion, I strongly advise against wasting your time and money at this establishment. You're bound to be thoroughly disappointed with...

THEY BROUGHT THE FLAN BACK! AND IT WAS SOO DELICIOUS! 5 STARS AGAIN!!
Old review:
For a while I enjoyed going here as they always had my order right and the meat they use is so perfectly cooked that it practically melts in your mouth.
Alas, the last time I went they apparently had a new guy that had transferred from one of their other stores (definitely not the Atoka as that store always knows what I want and they're incredible there lol) and when I ordered a small queso, instead of the usual small bowl I'm charged about 4 or 5 bucks for understandably, he brought what looked like a cough syrup measuring cup and still charged me for it at the usual price. They then told me that apparently they no longer sell Flan and that just broke my heart! They sell it at practically every other one and almost every other Mexican restaurant so I'm confused why this one doesn't.
Either way, I used to go out of my way to stop here on my lunch break, but after that experience and the loss of the delicious Flan they used to make (R.I.P), I regret to say I can't find it in my heart to come here anymore.
To the owner, please bring back the right size bowl for small queso and the amazing Flan you had, that way I can once again bring my bros and family to the restaurant I claimed...
Read moreThis is my first visit here. They have a front and rear entrance and you are able to eat outside on the patio in the back. I was seated and greeted right away. They do give complimentary chips and salsa. The prices are very reasonable and I received a very nice portion of food for what I ordered. The reason I gave a 4 star on the food was for flavor. I had to put salt and pepper on everything I ate. Even in the salsa that came with the chips. The salsa is not a chunky salsa it is smooth. The dish that I ordered was called Molcajete. I want to say that it is served in a lave rock bowl (the bowl was deep) sizzling hot and stays hot the entire time you are there. That thing sizzles for a good 20 minutes. The bowl is deep. I did take the rest home. The meat was tender. You get about 5 medium shrimp out of the meat mixture. It is nice that they have the sea salt and pepper grinders at all the tables which is a much healthier and flavorful option for guest. But over all I would go back and try something different. I was just expecting a little natural flavor punch in the mouth without having to add anything. My bill was $22...
