If you like Mediterranean food like shawarma, humid, pita, kebabs, Cedars is about to become one of your favorite places. I had the chicken shawarma and my wife had the beef shawarma, both were not a sandwich order. It was a mistake to order 2 plates because they were massive. You can easily share a plate. The good news? We have at least 2 lunches worth of food. Still a win. The tangy salad was refreshing, the humus was perfect consistency, the potato chunks were golden and paired fantastically with the yogurt sauce, and the chicken and rice were full of flavor. The plates were full of nutrition. I only gave 4 stars for atmosphere. If this place had 5 stars there food would not be as good. They are cooking their meat on a kebab right in front of you. It is hot. This is the atmosphere you want in a kebab place. This atmosphere makes the food good, but yeah, it is not a cafe you are going to sit in for hours. The dining room is functional. It is a gift to you the customer if you are on the run and need to stop for food but can't take it with you. There is plenty of seating. If you like hot rooms, you will love this place, most people will be warmer than they are used to. That's ok. During the winter, you will love the heat of the kebabs. In the end, you won't care either way because the food is so good that you will keep coming back. The service is great. You see your cooks working hard for you in the heat to serve you some of the best shawarma and kebabs in town. You will be back again and again and again. It's simple good food bursting with flavor served by good people bursting with love for their craft and their customers. Go for lunch, go for dinner, get take out, bring your children, bring your family, bring your coworkers and their family. Your stomach will thank you and...
Read moreWe found this place on Navigator, as it close by a play. We liked the menu and went for dinner. To repeat, we had scouted the menu but knew nothing else. It was a surprise to find ourselves ordering at the counter with nothing to go by but large pictures of food and names of the dish (no listing if what is included and no prices!) it was awkward and would be very hard during busy times, as you have to walk the length of the counter to see the options, and notice that there are “side” dishes literally on the side of the room. All drinks, including water, come from a side cooler box (No, yiu can’t order tap water and not pay for it. You have to buy a bottle ) We ordered, noting that nothing was written down, nor did they charge us. They told us to sit down and wait and it was not a long wait. The plates were piled high and most of the food was tasty (with the exception of the vegetarian plate, which was greasy and largely undefined food). Lentil soup was a highlight. Pita bread was “meh.” The spinach pie was mostly a hollow shell with a little boiled spinach inside (if you expected spanakopita, as I did, you were disappointed). Then the reckoning at the cash register, where our party of four each “told what they got” and were given a final price, so if you have multiple items, you still don’t know the price. Two plates (including the meh veg) plus soup ran $40 and change. That’s near 2X what I would have considered a fair price. I now understand why they have you eat before charging you. We...
Read moreThis place was recommended to my wife and me by Turkish friends who praised its authenticity and taste. The prices were fair, online ordering was pretty easy, and the wait time was incredibly reasonable. We had two entrees and two appetizers with more than enough food for two adults for about $50 and no huge added “service fee” for ordering online. We could’ve gotten that down lower to $30 or less if we didn’t go with a full plate option instead of sandwich alone.
The descriptions of what all came with the items online were a little lacking. It didn’t sufficiently differentiate falafel sandwiches from falafel balls, but that was partially my bad not check which section I was selecting from.
The food was fresh and very tasty if this kind of cuisine is your thing. I really enjoyed my food even if my wife realized that falafel isn’t her favorite dish. It was so worth trying out, and we’ll be back trying other dishes at some point soon.
Their service was outstanding. We had an issue with our order that honestly ended up being our own mistake, but they did an awesome job of taking great care of us quickly. They made it really easy to want to come back. That isn’t always a given in 2024-2025 for to go orders.
Highly recommend. Would order...
