I have been eating here for years for lunch with co-workers, and meeting family and friends at times. Today's experience was enough for me to never return. The food was delicious as always and the waitress is always sweet and friendly. Today they were having trouble with their credit card machine. They couldn't get the card for the people before us to go through so they held theirs and came to us and asked if we had cash and told us their card machine was acting up. We told them that we did not have cash and so she took our cards anyway although she knew that the machine would not take it. We waited patiently as the young lady swiped me and my friend's card over and over again. She came back to the table and asked if they could just write our credit card information a piece of paper and run it later on. I told her that I was not comfortable with that and I could go to the ATM after work and bring them the cash but not now because they have already made me late. At this point I was already 20 minutes over my lunch hour waiting for them. At this time another waitress (Mei) takes our cards from our waitress and goes to the register in an attempt to run it multiple times again. She now ask to write our card info down for later and refuses to hand over my card. I told her no and I told her this is the most ridiculous thing I have ever experienced. Your card machine is not my problem as the customer. When this happens in other restaurants the meal is usually free at this point. For them to hold people in their restaurant on their lunch hour because their machine was out was enough for me to never return. They should have been happy for a promise to return with cash later. I am returning with cash when I get off of work but I will never return again. I hope that $11 lunch was worth losing multiple customers. My co-workers and I are in there at least once a week. ...

Recently ate here for the first time for a work lunch and will say that the food was okay; nothing I haven't tasted before. Based on other local reviewers, I was hoping to be wowed, but I was merely meet with mediocrity. I tried the Hibachi chicken lunch special and a Dynamite Roll (shrimp/avocado/cream cheese/crab stick/eel sauce) and the price was about $30. This is about 30-40% higher priced than other similar restaurants in the area. While everything tasted fine, it was just that, fine- nothing separating it from others.
The service was excellent. We never had to ask for refills, she checked on us frequently, but not over-frequently; everyone seemed pleasant.
As far as atmosphere goes, we came for weekday lunch so there was no tableside teppanyaki, but there was plenty of seating. The restaurant seemed a little too dark for my liking and made the restaurant feel old and drab, even though the building is not very old. However, the restaurant was clean and easy to navigate.
Overall, it's an okay place if you like Japanese style cuisine. I'm sure the tableside teppanyaki would be enjoyable. To me the food was a little overpriced, especially the Sushi. Maybe some of the other food and Sushi options would be better, but I think I'll stick to...
Read moreMy husband and I walked in and waited to be seated. There were 3 workers behind the bar. They appeared to be doing inventory. It was extremely slow and they told us to pick our own table. We sat and waited a good while before anyone came to our table. I ordered hot water like I have each time before and it came in a mason jar. I asked for a teacup. The server asked if I wanted tea or water. I said water. She gestured and said that's hot water. As we waited for the order I saw another couple of different ethnic orgin enter the restaurant. There were only 2 people behind the bar at this time. The manager rushes to the door with a smile and seats this couple immediately. The server also goes to the table immediately. My husband and I cancelled our order and got up to leave. The servers began to speak in their native language, says hot water, shrugs shoulders, and laughs. I tried to explain the issue and offense but the manager could care less. This is disappointing because this was a go to place for us. I could see that my concerns were falling on deaf ears and it was already a...
