I am extremely disappointed with the service I received today at the Slim & Husky’s Memphis location. As a collegiate coach, I brought a group of 20 people, and as a courtesy, I called ahead at 3:45 PM to confirm if they could accommodate us. I also asked whether it would be better for us to place our order in advance, the staff member assured me it was fine and that they would have our order when we arrived and that our food would be ready.
During this call, I inquired about specials, and the person informed me about the college special, which I was already familiar with. She specifically stated that we could choose any two toppings as long as they weren’t an extra charge. At no point did she mention any additional restrictions.
We placed our order around 5:30 so they could have it ready when we arrived at 7:45 PM. Despite we were suddenly told that our order couldn’t be fulfilled because it was close to closing time—even though we had called ahead and were told as long as it was before 8 PM, we’d be fine. After pushing back, they finally agreed to take our order.
However, when it came time to pay, we were overcharged, completely disregarding the budget we had planned for. Instead of honoring the special, they charged us full price for most of our pizzas, except for a few. When I questioned the cashier about this, she attempted to talk in circles and dismiss my concerns as if I didn’t know any better. She claimed that because we ordered toppings like chorizo, it wasn’t included in the special. This directly contradicted what we were told over the phone—that any two non-extra-charge toppings were allowed. If there were any additional restrictions, they should have been communicated upfront, not after our order was placed. We do have a meal allowance for the team and we needed to stay under a certain amount, which is why we chose to go with the special.
I’ve brought our athletes to the Nashville location many times, and they have always provided excellent service. Unfortunately, that was not the case at this location. The way I was cut off, misled, and overcharged was frustrating and unprofessional. Additionally, some staff members could benefit from customer service training—how you speak to customers matters. You never know who you’re talking to, and I really hate that such a great establishment was represented the way it was tonight.
This experience left a bad impression, which is disappointing given our previous positive interactions with Slim & Husky’s. I understand large groups can be overwhelming but we took the proper steps as we always do when taking our teams to eat and expect the same serve as any other customers. I hope this location takes the necessary steps to improve overall customer service, especially when dealing with groups that have specific budgets...
Read moreI ordered an online takeout order last night, Friday 4/19. My order was a combo for a signature slim and 4 wings. I added cinnamon rolls. The pizza I chose was the Nashville hot chicken.
I get to the restaurant, several workers are there and no one greets me or assist me. I am finally assisted and a male worker states my order has a couple more minutes. That was fine. I understand being busy but it turned into several chaotic minutes along with several others waiting and someone else order was wrong. Red flag.
Then when I received my order no one showed it to me as they did others that received their food but, I took a look at my food. The pizza looked burnt. I mentioned to the male worker ( person handling take out orders ) I was missing banana peppers and jalapeño peppers on my pizza. He said I was only allowed two toppings since I got a combo.
I informed him the combo I selected was for a signature pizza. He stated the same thing again so I said okay and just left because at this point it’s useless and not worth arguing. It is a very small possibility I was wrong BUT if I was wrong why was I allowed to order a Nashville Hot pizza online.
Why wasn’t I allowed to choose my two toppings IF that requirement is true and why wasn’t it listed online when I ordered the combo. My order and receipt clearly show I ordered a signature pizza and I did not receive that. My cinnamon rolls were hard too.
A very bad experience. I drove to the other side of town to get the food and it was not close in taste or quality to what I have had in the past all the way around. It was very frustrating to say the least and a big disappointment especially for the price. See...
Read moreSo I’m a Pyro’s guy, but i heard about the new competition in town so i decided to try out slim n huskys. I’m not gonna lie, it tasted IMMACULATE. And the cinnamon rolls were AMAZING chef’s kiss. BUT the service was a whole other story...The first time i went here, i had to to wait 30 minutes in the cold and i decided to leave and let it slide bc it was only their second week blah blah blah. but i went again yesterday and wait was soooo long for no reason. and it’s really not even that many customers there for them to be taking that long 😐. then they’re always screaming and can’t hear anything. like i had to repeat my order so many times to them lol. and then the person takes so long to take your order and write your name down 😭 like i spent a good 7 minutes just telling him my name and what sauce and cheese i wanted. then don’t even get me started on the cashier 😭 i asked what flavor of cinnamon rolls they had and all she did was point at the menu and ended up giving me a random one (it was good tho). I would definitely say that if you’re looking for something hefty and savory and don’t mind the wait and wanna support a black business, come to slim and husky’s. if you are looking for a quick bite to eat with a much wider array of toppings, COME TO PYROS (ridgeway ‼️)WHERE THEY WILL TURN YOU UPPPP. pyro’s is much friendlier (unless your start asking for extra lol) and MUCH QUICKER and crispier crust too. but slim and husky lowkey tastes “richer” but if i were you, i would give the slim n huskys a try but it def won’t be a...
