This is a beautiful space with beautiful food! I have been twice now and they don’t miss. The wine list is fantastic and the servers are great at suggesting the perfect glass. The chicken liver pate is DELICIOUS. It’s served with whole grain mustard and pickled veggies. It tastes like an elevated bologna sandwich?? Incredible. We also loved both of our entrees. My husband got the pork coppa. It was perfectly balanced and the crispy leek greens were the perfect little herby crunch. I got the red fish and the harissa cream sauce was so, so good. Just spicy enough and paired so well with the fish and sweet potato. We finished with the chocolate cake served with cold, boozy milk which immediately reminded me of the movie Matilda when Bruce Bogtrotter has to eat a whole chocolate cake as punishment. Except this wasn’t punishment. I would willingly eat a whole chocolate cake from JEM. I can’t wait to see what else they cook up in the future. Worth the 30 min drive from Germantown.

I came here for happy hour and was seriously impressed! The atmosphere is cozy yet modern—perfect for a relaxing evening. I started with a couple of glasses of wine and sampled a variety of small plates, all of which were beautifully presented and incredibly flavorful. The pate was rich and savory, balanced by grainy mustard and pickled vegetables, served with generous crostini. The crab dip was amazing and creamy. But the true standout? The chocolate cake. Hands down, the best I’ve ever had—decadent, moist, with a perfect balance of texture and richness. It’s the kind of dessert you think about long after it’s gone. Service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and well-paced. The staff made sure everything arrived fresh and hot. This place really nails the details, from plating to flavor to ambiance. If you’re looking for a place with great bites, solid wine, and an unforgettable dessert to top it all off, this is it. I’ll definitely be back!

Jem is a culinary haven that lives up to its promise of stripping away pretentiousness from fine dining. From the moment you step in, you're enveloped in an atmosphere of warmth and authenticity, a testament to the owners' vision. The menu is simply put a symphony of flavors, meticulously crafted to tantalize every taste bud. Each dish is a masterpiece, reflecting the passion and skill of the chefs. Not a single bite disappoints; instead, each one leaves you craving more. The camaraderie between the owners shines through in every aspect of the restaurant, adding an extra layer of charm to the experience. It's evident that their friendship forms the backbone of Jem's launch. The employees even have benefits. Wow. In a city filled with dining options, Jem stands out as a beacon of excellence. It's not too soon to declare my love for this gem of a restaurant - I'm right there with you.

Fantastic restaurant with a focus on modern food. The menu draws inspiration from across the world, mixing flavors and techniques not commonly brought together. The hamachi crudo was garnished with both charred okra, a typically southern or West African, and Japanese pickled peppers creating a wonderful and unique flavor. The cocktail list was short , offering 2 alcoholic options and one without. Wine, whiskey, and sake lists were also available; however, the emphasis certainly seemed to be more on the food than the drinks. And that can be seen in how the restaurant is laid out. From the kitchen is separated from the dining food by glass with a low top bar for seating looking directly in. You can see the kitchen from nearly all tables of the restaurant and especially well from the high top bar. The restaurant is set in an old concrete building that’s been completely remodeled but still retains some of its old charm, fitting into the rest of the Edge District. It’s not exceptionally large but feels spacious because they’ve left ample space between tables in the dining room instead of packing them as close together as possible. There’s also a parking lot next door which was convenient. While enjoying our dinner, we noticed the chefs making some epic looking desserts so we grab a slice of cake to go and it did not disappoint. Our bartender, Nick, was very attentive and took good care of us. Only complaint is that I wish they were located in the south main area. Overall and top notch dining experience and extremely reminiscent of the old Gray Canary restaurant that used to be on in the Old...

An Unforgettable Dining Experience!

We had the absolute pleasure of dining at JEM Dining, and it was truly a night to remember. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming ambiance that set the tone for a beautiful evening.

The location is perfect—easily accessible with convenient parking, which made the entire experience smooth from the start. The interior was tastefully designed, creating a cozy yet elegant atmosphere that made us feel both relaxed and special.

Our dinner was nothing short of spectacular. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and bursting with flavor. You can taste the care and creativity in every bite. The wine pairing with dinner was exceptional—each glass complemented the meal perfectly and elevated the entire culinary journey.

We were joined by another couple, and all of us agreed: the service was outstanding. The staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely invested in ensuring we had a wonderful time.

Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner, a night out with friends, or simply a fantastic meal, this place delivers on every level. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely...

I have eaten twice at this new addition to the Edge District neighborhood! I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the food I have tried so far - including the crab/shrimp dip, the yeast rolls, the arancini, the brussels salad, the burger, and the matzo ball stuffed chicken. The menu is small, but I really like that because everything on the focused menu is done really well with tons of attention to detail. The first time I visited, we had a table for four on one of their very first nights of service, and we had a very intimate and enjoyable dinner with an absolutely outstanding server named Lindsay. The second time I visited, we had a table for 10, and the staff helped us celebrate some birthdays with incredible service and delicious food. This is the perfect spot to celebrate date night or a fun night out. There is a cozy lounge area up front and a nice bar, and the atmosphere is modern and upscale without feeling stuffy or uninviting. I will absolutely be back and I can't wait to attend one of their...
