Updated to my 5 star original review... They sadly just lost me as a customer! I came in a week and a half ago right as they opened for the day (Yes, my bad for forgetting about requesting or getting a replacement for these gross items) because I had gotten off of working a late night in the weather (I'm a driver and even spoke with the husband/owner that morning, who's a broker in the freight industry) and bought basically the same 5 star order that I purchased the first time, except for no salad, quiche came with bacon, which I was not asked preference (I am a ham not bacon person) and the pie was different. The Quiche was HORRIBLE this time! Tasted like it had a cup of salt in it and was not edible. I didn't call after I tasted it bcuz it was the evening after I had gotten up from sleeping that day. I meant to do it the next day. Had my roommate try it the next night and he said somethingis wrong, too much salt. So I meant to call, had a lot going on last week, so yes my bad on taking so long. I work nights and sleep days, so I kept forgetting until today when I went to put my groceries away. I still have it, called the store and told the young lady what had happened, she spoke with the owner's and they admitted to being aware of an issue a week ago where the cook messed up ingredients while looking at the wrong recipe. But since it's been a week, they won't replace it nor offered a discount on my next order, even though I still have the whole quiche to show them I couldn't and didn't eat it, but said that they would guarantee that it wouldn't happen again for the next time I came in. Umm no thank you! You acknowledged there was a problem but since I didn't come back in a day or 2 later you won't fix the issue. Definitely won't go back now! I spent $80 that day, including the almost $9 tip. I didn't complain to them about the other things in my order but here's the scoop... The 2 chicken pot pies were not good this time either because the vegetables in the pot pies were very small, hard and seemed freeze dried, which was nothing like the first 2 that I had eaten the time before (those were amazing!). The Double Cream Blueberry Pie tasted like the whip cream that the girl added was sitting out all night or was old, but I tried to eat it and just took that as a loss and definitely something I wouldn't buy again, now NEVER from them sadly! I was so excited that Marie Callendar's was here, by my work and I had a great first experience, food was amazing (see original review below). Couldn't understand all of the negative reviews back then... Well the true light shines! Customer satisfaction comes in last after money in their pockets. Buyer beware, your experiences will differ greatly each time and if THEY mess up your order, make sure you go right away, even if proof is in your hand and you have pictures or you will just be paying their Eagle mortgage but starving as you do it! š If the owners wants to make this better, then I will re-review this review! If not... šš¼āļø P.S. I ate everything in a few days last time. Just not edible this time, except I spit out the hard veggies and ate the chicken pot pies.
Original: Visited yesterday for my first time with hopes of the same old delicious tastes from many moons ago. Customer service was great, very nice friendly staff. I ordered "to go", didn't order ahead and maybe waited 5 minutes which was amazing after a long 20 hour work night! I got 2 chicken pot pies, a quiche with ham, and a chicken avocado salad. Everything was and still is so yummy! Definitely recommend. I can't believe I didn't get PIE š¤¦š»āāļø, but I know there will be many visits in my near and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI cannot begin to tell you how happy I am to see Marie Callender's come back to town. When I came online to check out their website, I was shocked to see a 3.8 rating! I read some of the posts and feel that perhaps some were left prematurely since this location is relatively new. I took my mom and met up with a friend there, and our experience was great! Our service and the friendliness of the staff was stellar. The atmosphere is definitely "bistro" like and not at all like the restaurant atmosphere the original Marie Callender's had when on Fairview in Boise. The complimentary cornbread was the perfect amount and I had the Trio Plate with Chicken Pot Pie (lots of chicken), Caesar Salad, and warmed Peach Pie. My mom had the Tuna Melt with the Tortilla Soup and my friend had the Chili Bowl and cornbread. I gave a 4-star rating on food ONLY because the Pot Pie was indeed very salty. I saw a few reviews that mentioned the same thing. The Tuna Melt was plentiful and tasty and is not your typical melt as it had other amazing ingredients like bacon and celery. My friend's chili and cornbread was warming and filled her tummy. The menu is certainly not the menu options you once saw, but there is still a great variety to select from. Parking is not the best when it is busy and handicapped parking seems to be limited. Overall the experience was amazing and I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreInitially, I was a bit apprehensive about trying Marie Callender's because I remembered the one my parents used to visit, and I wasn't sure if it would live up to those memories. However, I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised! The new Marie Callender's is a delightful blend of nostalgia and modern culinary excellence. The moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a warm ambiance and friendly staff that instantly made me feel at home.
The menu, although different from what I expected, is a delightful fusion of classic favorites and new dishes. The quality of the food here is outstanding! Each bite was a delicious journey filled with flavors that reminded me of home but with an exciting twist. The portions are still generous, and the attention to detail in every dish is evident.
The pies, oh, the pies! They are as heavenly as I remembered, if not even better. From the perfectly flaky crusts to the luscious fillings, every slice is a piece of pure indulgence.
This new Marie Callender's might not be the same as the one my parents frequented, but it has managed to carve out its own special place in my heart. It's a fantastic dining experience that beautifully balances tradition with innovation, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking great food and a...
