I'm not one to post bad reviews. I understand how it can be, working in the food service, dealing with people all day long. But the experience my wife and i had last night was atrocious, to say the least. We have both worked in the food industry for over 10 years. We know the ins and outs, the dos and donts. Both of us started at the bottom, and worked our way up to managerial positions. We are not new to how restaurants are run. These passed few weeks my wife has had to work doubles. This means she is gone 12+ hours everyday, while I get home in time either from work or school to relieve the baby sitter, and take care of our 2-year-old son. Because of this, last night we decided to have some family time, and get a simple meal at a simple fast food place.
My wife was later than usual coming home. Her store was full of customers long after closing, people whom she needed to serve. Our son had taken a long nap, and so he was more than ready to spend some night time with mommy. We got to this McDonald's half an hour before closing. We are privy to what it is like to have customers come in so close to closing, so we were determined to make our visit as quick and simple as possible.
My wife ordered while I sat with our son, and as soon as she returned, I knew something was off. My wife is a very laid back, understanding person, but the way the young lady at the counter had treated her had her flustered. She responded to my inquiries by saying the young lady was very rude. I brushed it off for the moment. We sat in a spot where I could keep an eye on the clock hanging on the wall behind the counter, and I was keeping a very close eye on it. We enjoyed our simple meal, mostly because we were able to relax and visit for the first time in so long.
However, as soon as the clock on the wall read 10:55 p.m., and I was about to start cleaning up our table, the lights in the restaurant go off. No explanation or warning, they just shut off. The young lady who took our order then proceeded to casually walk to our table, and without any sort of apology, or appeal to reason, she says that they are closing, and we need to leave so that she can sweep and mop. This is a location that keeps drive thru open two hours after the lobby. It wasn't a situation where all the employees were leaving and we needed to be out.
She walked away, again, without any sort of courtesy, and I commented to my wife that we should get her name. As we began to clean our table, and we are very good at cleaning our space, again, restaurant work has taught us to respect food service employees, the lights suddenly come back on. The manager, who was running the drive thru, came around a corner in the back, and apologised profusely to me about the lights. I take this to mean the young lady took it upon herself to shut them off, especially as minutes after we had left and were in our car, the lights remained on.
We weren't able to verify the young lady's name, but we believe it was Alexa, or Alexis, something after that fashion, as my wife was able to make out an 'A' and an 'X'. She was shorter, and both my wife and I aren't very tall, so that is saying something, with long black hair and glasses.
I don't expect any kind of compensation for this, and I don't want any, either. I haven't seen much of my wife for two weeks simply because she has had people in her story after closing, and she helps them because that's what good customer service is. Therefore, you can imagine it was a bit infuriating when we were asked two leave five minutes before the lobby actually closed, when we are already planning to leave on time, right when we are finally having some good family time.
I don't want this young lady to be fired, and I don't expect the owner of this McDonald's, or any McDonald's, to see this review anyway, but if there was one thing I would ask it would be to please, train your employees well. Please, help this young lady understand that what she did was wrong, and how to avoid this in the future. As for my family and I, this location has lost...
Read moreI feel like there are good McDonalds and bad ones depending on the managers and staff. This one is on the lower end, my most recent visit last night had me there for about 30 min before I even left with my drive thru/ take out order. First off If I thru the drive thru come to find out they can only take cash because there machine is down and has been down, which isn't necessarily there fault, but now I'm stuck in line can't order food and can't leave till the other cars are gone which had taken a while. Maybe a sign or someone out there letting people know they can only take cash, there are restaurants that have people outside taking orders for crying out loud. Page 2, I would say 4 out of 5 visits they want me to park out front to wait for food and it's not like I'm ordering 30 big Mac's or anything usually a couple happy meals and 2 big Mac combo's or breakfast sandwhichesor something. I'm not trying to sound all high and mighty or anything and I doint mind waiting every once in a while but not most the time so yours numbers look good for corporate. There not accurate numbers anyways if your parking people, or they could be have no idea if that's even how it work's. There are other things I could get into but that's for another day.
So i guess they dont let you leave more than one review the above review is from feburary 2018. Now its September which doesnt mean in the past 7 months there hasn't been anything wrong when I have been here cause there has been, but tonight especially. So I go through the drive thru order my food and they hand me half my order and park me for the rest. Which i have got used to it happens at this location alot. I go inside to getextra ranch and just grab my order while im in there. So I get home and realize the 2 fry's i ordered where not in the bags sometimes I dont even bother going back but my wife really wanted them. I go back talk to the same lady ,gabby, who might have been a manager or something not to sure. I tell her my entire order and say I didnt get my fry's , I dont know what her problem was she goes, no you didnt i remember putting them in there, this is maybe 10 min later, I reply I'm sorry but I really didnt get them, she replies yes you did, my reply is no i didnt. She was so rude, says whatever, and literaly stomps over and makes me two frys and says here. At this point I cant even explain how frustrated I am. I go, look I didnt drive all the way back up here why my family is at home eating without me to get free frys, if i wanted frys that bad i could have used the app and got them for a $1 each ( that is with 2 separate orders). This location is so bad if there was one closer I would go to it, dont get me wrong there are good employees here that do go above and beyond but for the most part the others dont care there just getting a paycheck and dont care about anyone else. That's the end for now, yes i realized this whole post may not be grammatically correct, im using my phone and trying ti blow...
Read moreWent inside on Sunday 5/16 @10 am because we seen the drive thru line was long. We ordered pretty quick, the guy at the counter who was new was super quick and really nice. Then it went down from there, the manager was complaining the whole time that the crew members weren’t working hard enough and do their job correctly. She constantly told people she was frustrated and was mad that their DRIVE THRU TIMES WERE 25 minutes. Then when the manager in the grill area asked why she wasn’t calling for extra help, he exact words were “it’s a Sunday, no one is going to come why even try.” She then continued to complain and moan and groan the entire time and told the guy at the counter to lock the lobby door because of how behind they were. As people were just standing around in the grill area and behind the counter. 20 minutes later, we still haven’t received our order. I walk up to the counter because I see the bad with our order number but nothing has been bagged. The guy working the counter then checked to see how long our order was going to take, he told us they were waiting on one more thing and we’d be done. The manager then took the food out of our bag and placed it in another for an order in the drive thru and then proceed to say “drive thru is behind.” She did that a few more times until I got fed up and told them that if she takes one more item out of our bag we’re going to have a problem. She then got an attitude and told me that was fine she would just refund me my money back, then proceed to argue with me when I told her I seen her do it 3 times even though we had been waiting for over 20 minutes and continued to tell me because they were there first. Yet, my order was almost done. As she was processing the refund, she was talking on her cell phone with someone moaning and groaning.
I worked at a franchise McDonald’s for 3 years, not once did I ever have people waiting over 20 minutes for their order and nor did I argue with customers. This location needs to have someone from corporate visit, the manager with the attitude Toni or Tony, needs to either go or be demoted since she obviously can’t handle being a manager. Absolutely ridiculous. I will be calling...
