I have been to this place many times. Bummed to see they got rid of the wedge for a lame Cobb salad. This place has changed and not for the better. Very shocked that I paid $45.01 for 2 children and one adult. Ordered a kids ham sandwich which included 1 piece of ham and maybe 3 pieces of sprinkled cheese, with nasty chips $8 no drink included. Ordered a house ham and cheese sandwich $12.75 1 piece of ham and 5 pieces of sprinkled cheese? To change $12.75 for 1 piece of meat and hardly and cheese is robbery. Again with nasty chips and no drink. Also, I would love to know why the owner thinks itโs ok to charge $8.50 for a very small portion of fries??? Research all other restaurants in AZ average price for a LARGE basket of fries is $4 maybe $5. So what makes your fries worth $8.50??? Is there gold on them? LAME and GREEDY. To spend $45 for a mother and two small children at a sandwich shop is insane. Apparently you guys donโt have cheddar cheese which the cashier shouldโve just told me so instead they used sprinkle cheese on two sandwiches and they are very stingy. I have pictures of all of our food. It was horrendous and as somebody thatโs gone to this place at least twice a month I will never return, the price gouging and taking advantage is shameful.
Response to OWNERS very RUDE response:
Look at the food you served me the photos are available. Whatโs positive about what your facility served us? Not one item was GREAT. Sorry the truth hurts. Maybe you should check yourself and your reply to your customer and take accountability. You cannot look at those pictures of your food and be proud. You had the opportunity to make this right and you chose to be defensive. So, not only was the food poor but, the owner has horrible customer relations skills. I had a wonderful dayโฆ thank you. I just wonโt be spending my money nor will my family at your...
ย ย ย Read moreOkay let me first start off by saying that businesses have the right to not wear masks, its their choice. I am 100% on board if you want to wear them, but not on board with forcing other people to wear them. Now that thats out of the way let's talk about the sandwiches and chips. First off, if you saw another reviewer saying they were soggy and underseasoned, you should have asked for more, if something is messed up it is way better for the business and people working there to hear something is wrong and get to solving it immediately rather than coming on here and complaining. These chips im sure are home made and fresh, literally a fried chip with salt, simplicity and perfect execution at its finest. The sandwiches are some of the best. I just heard about them and I have had atleast ordered 8-10 sandwiches between me and my family. Sandwiches are like soup, simple and easy to mess up badly. This place is the exact opposite, I appreciate how well made, and how well portioned these sandwiches, chips and salads are. Nothing wrong with any of it. Nothing tastes cheap, or like burnt butter or gristle. I was just there for a second time today, initially I wasn't going to get another sandwich, but I had to turn around and come get a Philly and a grilled cheese to go. I GOT HOME, BOTH OF THEM WERE HOT ๐ฅ AND ALSO MY CHIPS WERE CRUNCHY!!! I come on here to make honest reviews, not necessarily complain. The owner is very kind and of course knows the good sandwiches and what to recomend based in your type of taste you are looking for. I have pictures of a grilled cheese with ham. THA BEST YALL!!! The Philly and Cubano. All great sandwiches and the salad WHOOO HOOO!!! Keep up all of the great work and I will be...
ย ย ย Read moreOn the pricey side, but everything we got was fantastic. We got the surf City Philly, the classic hot pastrami, and the Fig's pig. We also got the $4 dessert called "Its it ice cream Sando"? Had NO clue what that was, so I asked the cashier... they explained it was an ice cream sandwich made with 2 oatmeal cookies, and the whole thing dipped in chocolate". It sounded like it was hand-made in the store (just like the sandwiches)! But instead, it was just something that Walmart sells for 79 cents, so quite a bummer when you are expecting something hand-made (which would have been totally worth the $4) and instead get a 500% markup on something that Walmart sells a block away. Store owner states they sell the 5.5 oz version (instead of the 3.5 oz version that Walmart sells) so theirs is 57% bigger. So, if Walmart sold that same size, it would be $1.24. Still, $4 for a $1.24 Walmart item (of the same 5.5 oz size) is a bit steep. Surf City could charge just $2 or $3 and still have super fat 38% and 59% profit margins, respectively (and not have to pay any high shipping costs from the factory). Or better yet, they could make them at the store with fresh baked cookies that would be an amazing upgrade to their menu! If large enough, could even charge $5! People go out to eat for freshly made food, not factory food out of a cardboard box from Walmart. Just like you chose to make fresh-made potato chips in store, l (awesome!) instead of offering boring bagged chips from Frito-Lay. Great decision! Simply suggesting you do the same with the desserts! Food...
