Edit: Their dinner price has increased to $29.99. Sakura Sushi is my favorite place to take friends and family. The menu has a broad selection of great food to choose from. I'm also thankful that they have a variety of cooked options for my few friends who aren't as confident in eating raw fish as I am. The sushi is very good quality. The servers are quick and friendly. They do a good job of keeping the place clean and orderly. I know that I'll have an excellent experience every time I visit. I love the artwork and decor as well.
The only things about this restaurant that I do not like are related to the atmosphere. The music is often turned up way too loud for me, and it can make having conversations with those at my table difficult. Secondly, their choice of what to put on their TVs feels a bit strange or distracting. (Example: On my last visit, one of the TVs was playing a dramatic crime investigation show that depicted gory murder scenes. That felt very out of place in a restaurant.) However, I acknowledge these are just my own personal preferences. If you're less sensitive to sensory input or are not coming to have in-depth conversations while you eat, this likely will not bother you.
All in all, this is a great sushi restaurant. I plan on coming back soon to enjoy more...
Read moreThe food quality is solid - small portions with more rice than the usual roll but that's not atypical for all you can eat sushi. I was especially fond of the vegetable rolls.
So why the low eating? I told staff (hostess and waitstaff) that i had a nut allergy. I emphasized this again when i ordered the dessert ice cream (mint chocolate chip of memory serves), while my wife had butter pecan.
Thankfully a lifetime of allergies leads me to caution, because there was a nice big glob of butter pecan on mine that would have led to a fun night of anaphylaxis and antihistamine. I don't know if they just went ahead and used the same scoop this time or they always do and everything is already cross contaminated, but I know they don't take sufficient care for allergies.
The restaurant website is also full of AI sushi - it looks like a copy paste site used by at least 25 other places (you can find that for yourself with an image search).
Between the complete disregard for shapes and given that the attempts to deceive with the website (at least obfuscate) I can't actually...
Read moreThis review is not based on the food quality because unfortunately I didn’t get the opportunity to try it. This review is based on their “policy”…. If you are planning to eat AYCE here and are with someone that does not eat sushi then plan to go somewhere else. So I love sushi and wanted to try this place but my girlfriend does not eat sushi at all but she wanted miso soup and edamame. The waitress told us that if you are at the same table you have to eat off the same menu. I understand some people are dishonest and share with non paying AYCE customers but we are not those people. I told her my girlfriend does not eat sushi at all and we came for me to stuff myself haha so she checked with the manager and the manager said no that’s our policy. So unfortunately we got up and left because I don’t find it right to charge full AYCE sushi price for someone to just eat soup and edamame. Just wanted to put it out there so future...
