Me and my boyfriend visited Big Pink for his birthday for breakfast as it was recommended to us but unfortunately not all recommendations need to be pursued, starting with this establishment. Save yourself and your funds and go to the nearest Waffle House or iHop instead because that’s the quality of food that you will receive just at way more overpriced rate. I had high expectations for this restaurant which was my first mistake, however my boyfriend ordered the fried chicken and waffle with the “home fries”. I ordered the pancake combo. My boyfriend meal came out to be a small chicken filet with the filet placed in the middle of the two waffles identical to the presentation of a sandwich which lacked tremendous taste and the “home fries” were huge potato chunks that were lukewarm and unseasoned which we barely touched. When I received my order I was provided waffles instead of pancakes as requested which isn’t/wasn’t the problem because simple mistakes happen in the food industry which I understand, it was also corrected immediately. However, my eggs were also very bland and the pancakes tasted like they were from an iHop kitchen. Once my boyfriend picked up his silverware to begin eating he noticed the silverware was not properly clean and had left over dried food on it which was disgusting which we alerted the nearest waiter in our proximity about, from that point we just requested for plasticware instead. Janet our waiter seemed to be pretty clueless about some of our questions, such as if they served mimosas or not due to me not seeing it on the menu and herself being unable to locate it as well but she pretty much just gave me a head nod and shoulder shrug i’m assuming insinuating that “she guess so” ? The mimosas were the best thing at this restaurant and they were just “okay” as well. Since it was my boyfriend birthday along with a few of the hiccups that occurred we asked her is there anything that they do/provide to their guests for their birthdays and she said “just sing happy birthday” which is not a problem but she didn’t even do that either. We didn’t even eat half of our meal and declined taking a to-go plate due to lack of the quality of the food that we received at the expense that we were paying for our meals and Janet didn’t even bother to ask was everything okay with the food or anything, she just said “okay” nonchalantly when we declined a to-go plate as if she didn’t see all of the uneaten food left on our plate. Overall our total came out to $93 for iHop quality food along with 18% gratuity included. I was able to speak to a manager which I must add he was very nice and accommodating for providing a refund for the gratuity paid which I appreciate but unfortunately I still do not recommend this establishment due to the amount that you will pay not matching the quality of the food that you are...
Read moreCame here for our sisters birthday because usually the service and food is great. But today we had Dylan as our server and he forgot a whole meal / drink. After taking our orders, he came back over to ask three out of four of us to repeat our orders again (literally less than a minute of him first taking our order) then said “ got it “ and ran off. We noticed the table next to us got their drinks from the bar before we did when they ordered after us so we called him over to remind him of the drink. He told us “ the bar is backed up, he’s waiting on them “ then we watched him run over to the computer, put it in and the bartender pick up the ticket to make it and got delivered right after (waited a total of 40 plus minutes for a drink). Our food comes and only three out of four of us gets our food, we thought maybe the rest was coming since the plates were so big and Dylan comes back with plates and rushes away before we could tell him we were missing a whole meal, we even called his name out as he walked away. We final get his attention to come back over after 5 minutes and he ask what the issue is like he can’t see one person does not have any food while everyone else does. We tell him we are missing a meal and he says oh yeah what did you get again let me see what the hold up is. He goes back to the computer and puts the meal in, then starts standing around and walking around instead of alerting the kitchen / manager he forgot food or coming to tell us anything. after waiting another 15 minutes we got another server to get a manager. The manager was great, he went to find out what happened and told us it just got put it but he would get it out as soon as possible and take it off the check. Dylan comes with the food 5 minutes later and says “ i don’t know what happened there, sorry “. After eating we ask him for three boxes and he forgets the same persons box but brought the other two and the check. He didn’t take the drink we waited 40 minutes on off and added a tip to the total. The food was good at least and the manger was great but maybe Dylan needs more training or help. Nothing is more disappointing than waiting a long time for food that doesn’t come and not being told what is going on. The rest of the family waited to eat, so their food was cold by that time and he never even followed up with us or checked in. Will only come back there for the food and request for dylan not to...
Read moreI have been coming to Big Pink for many years, and have absolutely LOVED everything that I have ever gotten, as has anybody that I have ever eaten here with. And that is saying a lot, as their menu is absolutely the most extensive menu that I have EVER seen! The best omelettes, burgers, chicken and waffles, salads, sandwiches, and anything else that you could ever dream of. And as much as I have always come for the food, I have to give a special shout out to a particular waitress that has assisted me many times. Michelle is a true professional! She always greets everyone with a huge smile and makes them feel so welcome. Sometimes months will go by between my visits, and if I am lucky enough to sit at Michelle’s table (yes, I do request her whenever I can), she immediately asks me, “Iced coffee?” I have no idea how she remembers that is what I like to drink, but she does. With that extensive menu I don’t know how anyone can know everything on there, but she does. And she will make recommendations when asked. I had lunch there today, and saw a Reuben sandwich on the menu. It has probably always been on the menu, but because the menu selection is so MASSIVE I never noticed it. I love corned beef, and have enjoyed it at the best delis in the country, including many of New York’s best (think the old Stage Deli and Carnegie Deli). I also know that some restaurants that are not true delis may have a corned beef sandwich or a Reuben on their menu, but the corned beef can often be chewy. I asked Michelle how the Reuben was at the Big Pink, and she told me that it was REALLY great, so I ordered it! It was absolutely one of the best that I ever had! Great call once again Michelle! Michelle is an old school true professional who cares about her customers and wants them to be happy! It starts from her smile and ends with the thank you when you leave. People like Michelle are...
