I visited South Point Park on a Saturday evening, in search of a place to watch the sunset. I was pleasantly surprised by the park's beauty and offerings.
The park features long stretches of green areas, perfect for sitting, laying down, and soaking in the serene atmosphere. You can relax, listen to the soothing sounds of nature, and take in the breathtaking views. There are also water features, including refreshing showers for children to enjoy on hot summer days, although that might be a downside for those seeking a peaceful and dry experience.
Additionally, there is a pier where you can walk and admire the picturesque surroundings. It stays open until sunset, attracting a fair number of people. Despite the cloudy weather during my visit, I still had a good experience and found a spot to enjoy the views. I took the opportunity to read my Kindle and take a leisurely stroll.
South Pointe Park is easily accessible, as you can take the trolley from South Beach to reach it. Overall, I think it's a fantastic place to visit. While the sunset view on the particular day I went was hindered by clouds, I would definitely recommend returning for a better chance at witnessing a stunning sunset. I plan to revisit in the future and encourage others to explore this...

Read moreDefinitely the best park in Miami Beach for the views, features and pristine environment. There is a small playground for children under 12 but really for 12 months to 7 years. Covered with shade cloth so light still gets through. There is a water feature opposite the playground that has 5 tall well designed water spraying devices to cool off. They are activated each individually by those using them, so they don't run constantly. There is a trail with stations to do various exercises. There is a pier that is easily accessible that you can get a great view of Government Cut looking west towards downtown. The landscaping is pristine and grass is all Bermuda hybrid (fairway grass on a golf course) cut short like a carpet Reminds me of the fringe on a well maintained green. (Golf Speak) Beach is large by South Florida standards with lifeguards and maintained well. Overall if you are visiting Miami this is definitely a great place to spend a day. Numerous restaurants are no more than 10 to 15 minute walk. Look up "South of 5th, South Beach" and you will get over 25 restaurants from 5 star to walk up. That covers just about it all. The pictures...
