Read moreBe aware of the credit card scam from the 3rd of December 2020 . I purchased engine oil and bait from the marina shop , I used my credit card to pay but the machine didn't work apparently.. so they insert the numbers manually 2nd time ... didn't work again apparently.. I asked if ill be charged and I was told that no.. I paid with cash and left. Well I did got charged for the 2 visa payment attempts tho. I called the shop they said that they can see the transaction but they can't refund me the money if they don't have the card in hand.. so I did took the boat and went to get my money back. Well funny that the transaction disappeared from the computer. I showed my bank statement, they talked with the higher person at the marina and adoring to the guy they said will call me when the technician will fix the computer and see why they dint have the transaction anymore but I do and they don't think that they charged me but my bank is just showing me that it did... now if you did purchased with a card on the date of 3d of December make sure you check the bank statement.. yeah they never called back, I made a report and luckily I have the cash receipt and the bank is dealingwith the fraud. but yeah nice scam they run there . I never heard of a digital transaction to disappear from a computer after 10 days and be lied to for the amount of 38.50$ . dont forget that they had thousands a transaction that day as I was told.. make the math. Lucky I checked my bank statement . I...
Read moreWARNING - TOWING SCAM - AFFECTING PATRONS OF THE MARINA: This past Saturday, I parked in the visitor parking area of Miami Beach Marina to go diving with Tarpoon Lagoon on the morning boat, as I have done frequently the past decade. Returned from the trip without issue and walked into the garage to lock my diving equipment in the trunk of my vehicle so I could have lunch at Monty's without carrying around $2K worth of scuba gear. This was at 12:30p.m.. When I returned to the lot ~ 1:45p.m., there is a tow truck from Tremont Towing removing an SUV from a visitor spot, a few spaces up from where my vehicle used to be. There were dozens of the white signs (i've attached as a photo) all over the cars in the visitor spots (I counted at least a dozen). Despite paying to go diving at Tarpoon Lagoon, and patronizing Monty's, my vehicle was towed. When I recovered my vehicle, I counted 8 vehicles with the white sign tucked under the window wipers. I recognize it was easter weekend and the marina wants its visitor parking used by visitors of the marina, but this is unacceptable. I patronized the marina, parked in a visitor spot, and was towed anyway. There's no negotiating with Tremont Towing or Miami Beach Marina management. You have no recourse. Once your car is towed - it's $280 cash to get it back. Recognize the risk of parking at Miami Beach Marina, even if you are a patron of the dive shop or...
