Once in the restaurant, Vanessa was an excellent hostess and server at the Casa Tulia in Miami Beach, FL. She welcomed us with a smile and friendly hello. Seated us and offered us water and bread with olive oil, to start our meal.
The atmosphere was so charming. An intimate space with string lights and beautiful plants. Seating was comfortably spread out.
Our meal was tasty and had a little different flavor that made it unique to the restaurant. Chicken Masala and Chicken Alfredo were our choices with an appetizer of fried calamari. The calamari was prepared really well and the sauces along with it were both tasty. We liked mixing them for a little extra flavor.
We opted out of dessert but the options looked scrumptious.
Something we thought was a little odd for an Italian restaurant was that they didn’t offer Italian sausage. But, we don’t create the menu. ☺️
We went early in the evening but there was only one other table the whole time we were there (about 5:30pm), but we thought part of that reason could have been signage. We saw nothing outside that advertised the restaurant. We took a chance by walking in the door that it was the right entrance. But, Vanessa said that they just put a new sign on the hotel that day. Hope that changes soon for their sake and...
Read moreVery difficult to find since it is in the hotel. However, inside is also not an accurate description. The restaurant is on an outdoor covered patio with fans blowing. The hostess and server spoke very little English and when we went to order, she had to get someone else to take the order. Not a huge issue but certainly odd that you would hire a server that doesn’t speak English. They never offered any type of bread or anything to get us started. Which for an Italian restaurant is really weird. We ordered the Bruschetta but it was red peppers and tomato’s and not a traditional type at all. Not great. For our main course we each got the Chicken Picata and it was excellent. They don’t serve with pasta, but with potato slices. They were actually very good as well but not served on pasta was odd. We opted to pay an extra $6 for a small bowl of pasta and it wasn’t served with any sauce The only dessert they had was a cheesecake which again, we opted out. The atmosphere is great but we arrived at 6pm and stayed till 8pm on a Saturday night, we were the only patrons. It has to be from the lack of signage because the food is good. Glad we came but won’t be back. It’s not a traditional Italian restaurant by...

I was on my own one evening while staying at The Setai. It was a short walk to the restaurant and the overall reviews were quite good.
Service - one server for approximately 12 guests overall. This should have been manageable but the focus was just not there. The server was pleasant, but did not quite seem to understand the cadence. Bread and meal served before the drink (water and beer). Worse yet an automatic 20% gratuity included.
Food - Chicken saltimbocca with lettuce? Not hot, lukewarm. Garlic bread was pretty tasty, but $6 for six small slices seemed a bit much. $9.50 for a Corona. The chicken if properly prepared and hot would be a deal at $20.
The meal came out fast but everything else was slow or ill timed. More concerned with checking phones and clearing tables than properly...
