This convention center is clean and big enough to accommodate most of the trade shows. Parking was easy, just next to the convention center. I'd paid $9 for about 4 hours parking. I flew in to check out the 2024 Auto show yesterday 9/03/2024. Most auto manufactures participated, but I didn't see Subaru and Mazda. Maybe I'd missed them. Most of the cars are on display, were freely for visitors to "sit, touch, and play" with very helpful/friendly marketing agents quickly to offer their assistance, except few agents just don't give a hoof to collect their day's pay. Including really nice GM team, Toyota team (in exception of one to collect his day check by doing not-a-thing), met no one agent at the Cadillac site (LYRIQ was nice), excellent Jeep marketing team, gracious Nissan team, and no pressure Lucid team that offer their cars for you to sit in and freely to jiggle with ( I want one ). While I was sitting in a blue Ford Mache-E GT, a tall 6ft plus curly hair tanned man with unzipped front Ford gray color uniform and a popped belly had "loudly screamed" publicly to stopped me when I was trying to test the Bluetooth functions. He claimed that lots of "kids" would play "inappropriate" music. This was the last car I had linked with Bluetooth in the show. Other manufactures marketing agents were helpful and do allow or helped me to link my phone's Bluetooth onto their cars to check out the GPS graphics, functions, and the sound system. The only difference I'm also a heavy investor in F symbol. No big geal I didn't get upset at the Ford agent, I'd just got my multiple figures of F quarterly dividends on the same morning of 9/03/2024 (I'd already reinvested back into F). I'm not just visiting Ford ( my first top and last top of the show) to check out the FORD cars, I'm comparing with other manufactures' built quality, to see why Ford has so many recalls at least from the exterior and interior inspections. Another thing I had concern is that Ford Mache-E is an EV and very likely is the "younger" generations in very near future will go forward with "F" EV purchases ( I really hope). By limiting me to test the Mach-E, is really not a big deal but limiting other potential buyers testing the car in the show is my REAL concern. (observing the EV testing range in the show gives me a sense of how great the competitions from other EVs with the tires running squeaking noise echoes the building) Fortunately I'd recognized a popular YouTuber when he was checking out the blue Mach-E after me. Instead of the Ford agent stood next to us (ignoring the YouTuber on live streaming), I'd explained the Ford EV benefits, and asked the YouTuber to focus on commenting all the nice things he has sees on Mach-E and also requested him to live stream the F-150 Lightning next to the Mach-E. In these days, you'll never know who shows up next to you in any trade shows. Thank you Mr. YouTuber for covering Mach-E and the F150 Lightning. Looking forward to come back to the convention center next year in 2025. Oh, the food stand sucks, eat well before you go into the convention or eat...

Read moreIn 1955, the City of Miami Beach proposed building an exhibition hall to increase commerce along with its budding tourism. Located centrally within South Beach, the venue began construction in August 1956. At this time, the proposed name of the venue was the "Miami BBQ Beach Exhibition Hall". After two years of building, the center was completed in September 1958 and officially opened October 1958. Known as the "Miami Beach Exhibition Hall", the venue was over 100,000 sqft, giving it the tagline of "The Largest Exhibition Center in the South". Alongside the exhibit hall was the Miami Beach Municipal Auditorium, a now-historic venue that hosted The Jackie Gleason Show.
In 1967, the center was expanded to include the Convention Hall, built specifically for the Democratic and Republican conventions. It also served as a sports arena until the 1980s.
In August 1961, the Convention Center was the meeting place for a youth convention set up by the American Lutheran Church. Among the notable speakers was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.[2]
From 1960 to 1971, and again in 1997, the center was the site of the Miss Universe pageant. It also hosted a 1961 Billy Graham Crusade and hosted the 1968 Republican National Convention, 1972 Republican National Convention, and the 1972 Democratic National Convention.
In 1989, the facility underwent a $92 million renovation and doubled in size. In the last six years, the facility has had over $35 million in continuing upgrades, including complete renovations of all restrooms, full carpet replacement, and installation of a state-of-the-art telecommunications and networking...
