El Carnival Churrascaria in the Heart of Lincoln Road in Miami Beach is Must Visit Restaurant Whether Your a Local or Visiting Miami
Nestled in the vibrant area of Miami Beach at 809 Lincoln Road, El Carnival Churrascaria is a dazzling celebration of Brazilian culture and cuisine that deserves every one of its five star rating. I had the pleasure of meeting the handsome owner, Wael, and manager who were super hospitable. The restaurant recently opened in January, 2025.
My server Jay was excellent surprising me with the most excellent strawberry Mojito, one of his recommendations and personal creations. Truly delicious on a hot, sultry day in August. Ask for Jay, he really cares about his customer experience and is very knowledgeable. Each waiter custom makes your table drinks. They work from their Soul. So cool. They also feature a Happy Hour to pair with your meal.
The menu is truly deep and rich. Jay informs me that they are adding a "build your own Brazilian pizza option". The Picanha I had was extra-ordinarily delicious, and flavorful. The fries are made in truffle oil. Perfection. The variety of tomatoes used in the salad were some of most flavorful I have tasted in the over 70 countries I have visited. Wael shared with me that many of his ingredients are sourced from a local farmer.
Some of their sea food dishes are made before your eyes table side in the green ovens adding an additional touch to already delicious dish choices and excellent service.
I also enjoyed the codfush crocket, coxinha crocket, firecracker shrimp and salmon crispy rice samplers. Mouth watering ecstacy! Highly recommended.
From the moment I stepped onto the exterior seating area with lively Brazilian music playing in background and the soft hum of cooling exterior fans, I felt this place has the right vibe for an extraordinary experience. I was right.
In this lively yet refined restaurant, I was enveloped in an atmosphere that seamlessly blends high-energy sophistication with warm, welcoming hospitality—a true embodiment of Brazilian flair. The menu is a masterful showcase of churrasco-style dining, with expertly grilled meats and sea-food stealing the spotlight.
The picanha, a succulent and perfectly cooked sirloin cap, melted in my mouth with each flavorful bite and is a testament to the Chef’s precision and passion.
The owner, Wael, took time to engage with me, ensuring every detail of my experience was flawless—a personal touch that made me feel like family. I observed the carefully curated wine list, and my Strawberry Mojito paired perfectly with the meal, added a layer of sophistication and fun to the vibrant setting, enhanced by a global, sexy soundtrack and occasional samba music that brought the space to life.
The ambiance at El Carnival is nothing short of magical. The outdoor seating on Lincoln Road offers prime people-watching all day long. I see it as ideal for everything from romantic dinners to celebratory group gatherings. The pricing, surprisingly reasonable for South Beach, reflects incredible value for the top-tier quality and experience.

A Heartbreaking Experience with Carnival Cruise Line
I’ve debated whether to share this publicly, but I feel it’s important—not just for my family, but for any other families who may find themselves in a similar situation.
On April 13, my family and I were scheduled to depart from Miami on a Carnival Cruise to Mexico. Unfortunately, due to a flight delay, my daughter and her five-year-old daughter arrived at the terminal around 2:45 PM—just minutes after general boarding closed. I had been in communication with a Carnival staff member named Tara, who assured me she would hold their documents and allow them to board once they arrived.
Despite the ship not departing for nearly another hour, my daughter and granddaughter were denied boarding. Tara returned their documents at the gangway but failed to follow through on her word. What made matters worse was how they were treated—staff at the port were rude, dismissive, and even closed the doors in their faces. My daughter was left in a vulnerable city with a small child and no accommodations, no support, and no guidance—for an entire week.
As someone who is terminally ill, this trip held special meaning. It was meant to be a time for connection, joy, Easter celebration, and the highlight of the week: my granddaughter’s 16th birthday. Instead, it became an emotionally exhausting, heartbreaking experience of separation and disappointment.
I’ve always chosen Carnival for its family-friendly image, but what we experienced felt anything but. I hope Carnival will take accountability, show empathy, and ensure no other family endures what we did.
Families deserve better.

Read moreWe recently dined at El Carnival and walked away seriously underwhelmed—and significantly lighter in the wallet. The atmosphere was unimpressive at best. We chose to sit outside, only to be blasted by loud, poorly positioned speakers that made conversation nearly impossible.
Despite the steep prices, we decided to go ahead with ordering since the menu looked promising. Unfortunately, the food fell flat. The appetizers and mains were largely tasteless. The fish was overwhelmingly "fishy," and the steak—ordered medium—was served tough and overcooked. After sending it back, it came out slightly better but still difficult to chew. The rest of the dishes were equally forgettable. The only highlight? The kids enjoyed their spaghetti and meatballs.
To their credit, the waiter did correct an order mix-up quickly, but the service overall couldn’t make up for the poor food and inflated prices. For a family of four, we spent $190 without ordering anything extravagant. On top of that, they tacked on a resort fee and an automatic 20% tip—then had the nerve to ask for additional gratuity, explaining that the built-in tip was shared among staff. That should be their internal business, not the customer's concern.
With bland food, high prices, and questionable billing practices, I honestly don’t know how El Carnival stays open. There are far better dining options out...
