We stayed for 2 nights from monday-wednesday and this place was so chill. Our first time in miami and we wanted to avoid the rowdy areas and this was perfect. Very close to the beach, and they collaborate with a company on the beach that has chairs and an umbrella. The water was calm and warm. I wish we brought snorkels for the beach. I have to add that the weather apps were changing every day and they kept saying it was going to rain but we barely saw any rain.
The hostess when we checked in at 5PM was so nice and pleasant and she explained everything to us. We didnt interact with the morning hostess but she seemed very pleasant as well. The room was good as we were not expecting much and it was clean. There was some noise on the upper floor super early in the morning so I would recommend a room on the 3rd floor instead of the 2nd if you are concerned about noise. The area is very quiet at night.
I really wish we tried the local house restaurant earlier as it was the best meal out of our 3 days. We ate at the Versace mansion, burgermeister and Alma Cubana and the Local house was the best. I had the mahi sandwich and my wife had the ocean benedict. The sandwich was big and filling it was well worth it compared to the other inflated restaurants in that area. If we went back we would definitly skip Alma Cubana and the Versace mansion. Burgermeister was great as well and they have well priced bears but The Local House restaurant wins our favorite restaurant award for this stay.
The Rooftop was very quiet which was perfect for us and the pool up there closes at 10pm, the rest of the rooftop is available all night which is amazing for people that want to relax late at night outside in a safe a secluded spot. The pool is barely 3ft deep so its really more of a pool to just chill in and you can easily sit in there for a while as there is sort of a bench in the pool along the entire sides. The other guests were friendly and we only saw one other couple on the rooftop on one of the nights.
The staff is great. Im very pleased with our stay and the best i can do is leave them this detailed review. Next time we will definitely eat at their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJust had such a terrible experience. We came for drinks and would have spent $$$$ but our server was so slow. There were 2 server/bartenders for the restaurant. But only the patio & 1 table inside were sat. That to them is considered ābusy.ā
We could only 2 rounds of drinks in the hour we were there because of the slow service. Again, we planned to spend a lot here but that obviously didnāt happen due to the service. We ordered a drink with the buzzer bc our server (male bartender with short brown hair & an accent) was no where to be found. Busser said no problem. Server came over 10 mins later & asked if we wanted another round & when we told him we ordered with the busser he said that didnāt count⦠what? I kind of get that but then the busser should have said something or told the server and he shouldāve put them in.
I watched the 2 servers go to one table for an order or to drop off food/drink and then go to the bar to make other drinks. That is not efficient service.
The 20% service fee was added and when I told our server we wanted it removed, he argued with me and told me that the system couldnāt remove it. I asked for a manager & was told there was so manager. I told him that was ridiculous & we would pay for the drinks, tax, & TIP but not 20% bc he didnāt earn it. (His excuse was that he was busy). Eventually he said heād call a manager. The other server/bartender came over & we had the same convo. Then magically the 20% grat came off. He said āin south beach the 20% is added always.ā I get that. I also work in the restaurant industry in a tourist area. But you still need to earn the tip & it is an option of the guest to pay that.
We still tipped 15%.
Iām sitting at a different restaurant and having a much better experience. Go somewhere else or only come here if they have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe arrived at the hotel and was greeted by an older Spanish lady at the front desk . She seem nice , gave us recommendations and told us we can smoke on the top floor . It was me , my boy friend and 5 month old baby boy staying at the hotel for 4 nights . We already had a bad day and getting to Miami was a nightmare so I was looking forward to have a relaxing time at the hotel . We went to our rooms and started unpacking . Not even 15 mins later I get a knock at the door and it the lady from the front desk saying she smells weed . Mind you I have my 5 month old baby and we havenāt even had time to unpack . She kept going back and forth saying she smells it and I asked her if there was other people staying on this floor and she said yeah there are families on this floor . As if she wasnāt looking at a family . Which made me feel very uncomfortable and racially profiled due to the fact my boyfriend if black and we are a younger family .we did not smoke . I told her I have my baby as well I would never do anything like that . I told my boyfriend I feel uncomfortable it hasnāt even been 15 minutes and sheās being unfair with us for no reason. He goes down to talk to her and sheās trying to shoo him away like he was bothering her or she was to busy to talk . This was the first time Iāve ever experienced anything like this in my life and she should really work on her people skills . I have a family just like everyone else on the floor I stayed on . Very bad...
