I was anxious booking here due to some older reviews that talked about the noise ( you can hear everything ) , to the loud air conditioner , to the view of the dirty alley and let’s not forget about the nonexistent Free breakfast.
Well , I can say for my family of 4 , we were pleasantly suprised and happy with our stay. We stayed in the room with kitchen and that is in annex hotel on the other side of the parking lot. Spacious and This room type has a fridge and a microwave which was needed as we had to go food and water bottles. Nice roomy shower as well. Beds had foam mattress which wasn’t awful but it did sink in. I think if they get a normal mattress, the place would go up a notch for sure ! We opted for 1st floor as we didn’t want To lug our luggage up soo our view was not great but we didn’t care. You can stay higher and see the other buildings as your view ? The parking lot right next to the hotel was great ! Easy to get your car in and out and there are attendants there to watch over your car. It is a public parking lot and it gets full but there were a few spots open when we came. We just left our car there and walked everywhere. This lot is The top reason I rented this place. Very convenient. Beach was right a a cross the street. You have to rent umbrella and chairs but you do get to use the beach towel Given to you at the front desk. So our building was great and can’t speak for the other two building but I know in the main lobby , there were rooms and then some more rooms upstairs of the small restaurant there.
So We arrived on sat and left Monday so we were there at peak days but we didn’t hear anything at night ! You heard Right. Nothing ! The only sounds were at 8 am with some kids running down or up the stairs with their parents. This happened both mornings. Strange. Why so early ? Other times nothing. I was amazed. Not sure if it was because of the room type but In our building it was quiet. The halls and rooms were clean. Only after a day the hall smelled funny so they should spray it down every few hours.
Aside from the bed , and hall smell , this place was great. Also 5 th street and below truly is much quieter and this is perfect for us. The other hotels on ocean drive .. they have bars / clubs / restaurants under the hotel. How does anyone sleep ?? The music is super loud and it Doesn’t stop till prob 4 am ? Lord no.

Read moreCustomer service from Jonathan was great. The location is excellent. Literally walking distance from the beach. So many places to eat within walking distance. So here’s what you need to know. You have to pay to park $25 a day if you stay at the hotel. Keep in mind You get what you pay for. The room door has to be slammed! I recommend viewing the room for verification. It did NOT look anything like the pictures. We had the double bed and it was extremely small. There is NO Microwave nor Refrigerator. The bathroom has stand up shower and toilet only. In the picture you see a sink in the bathroom. That was not true. The sink is outside the bath room. The closet is a built in book case looking compartment. Our TV had a black line going down it. The AC unit had mold in it. The shower had the same mold. When we returned from the beach the bathroom and the window had so many ants . Good thing Walgreens and CVS were a hip skip and jump away. The first night there our room key did not work . There front desk attendant had to literally come let us in each time. They did fix the issue with the door early on our second day. No discount was offered and I didn’t want to be bitter berry when they know we had so many issues. The only reason I gave 4 stars is for the convince of eating and drinking plus how close it was to the beach. The lingering odor in the lobby smelled like a basement. Again you Get what...
Read moreThis place was an unexpected surprise. Picked up a room last minute on Hotwire. Assumed there would be a parking/valet fee and maybe a resort fee since most in the area do this. Ocean Five has neither. The rooms, while smaller than a standard roadside chain hotel, are clean and simple, not a shoebox and plenty big enough for reasonable people. And the staff, Andy in particular, were so thoughtful.
We arrived a few hours early in Miami and have a high clearance vehicle. Decided it was easiest to pay cash for parking in an open air lot next to the hotel rather than risk an off-site valet. Turns out, the hotel owns that lot and upon check-in later that day, Andy, unprompted, was able to refund the parking fee since it is free for guests.
He might have taken the extra effort because our young family of five shambled in on bikes, soaking wet during a rainstorm, but every single interaction I've had or overheard with him was done with a rare ability that I'm struggling to put into words. It was like a quiet confidence, sometimes even before the first word he's doing exactly what needs to be done and ushering you through the process before you even knew you needed exactly that level of help. Plus I could listen to that accent all day.
Honestly, Andy is a true professional in his trade and I have never had an experience with hotel staff anything like it. Really sealed the deal for me...
