Overall: Terrible. I probably wouldn't give this restaurant a try even during Miami Spice.
Staff: My friend and I had reservations and we were on time. Just wanted to make sure I pointed that out. She gave us a look as if to say "why are you here?". She told us it would be a moment. Ten minutes or so passes by and in walks a couple; who were greeted by name. It's obvious that they frequent the restaurant a lot. They were immediately shown to their seats. Not a problem. Perhaps they had an earlier reservations and they're late. A few more minutes pass by and in walks a party 5 that was immediately seated. They were early for their 6pm reservation. Our reservation was at 5:30pm. When we inquired about he wait we were told that they were getting our table together. Finally we are escorted to the back. The dining area is empty. The tables in the middle are primarily empty and there were a few booths that were occupied. So why the wait?
Food: I honestly do not see what the rave is about. I've always heard about the various Shula restaurants but never experienced them. When I saw that they were apart of Miami Spice, I thought to myself why not. My steak tasted as if I got to from Applebee's or some chain restaurant. Shula's is supposed to be known for it's steaks yet the one I had was subpar. And they brag about their "special" steak sauce. It honestly tastes like Heinz 57 and A1 mixed together. Basically, nothing...
Read moreExtremely dissappointed, from the time the server/ waiter approach was mediocre. As the dinner progress it was not any better. We were greeted by our waiter a lady who’s body gesture and the way she came across did not want to be there. We overlooked it as anyone can have a bad day... We were on important business negotiations with business partners. My husband and I were appalled that we had to actually ask for silver ware that weren’t replaced and the table was left unattended. This is what you are paying for the actual customer service beside the food...as the night came to end we were given our bill close to $300 and we submitted two $50 gift card 20$ in cash and the remainder to be charged on credit card. The sever came back in a loud voice and asked very annoyed that he couldn’t understand our method of payment and went on explaining what we had submitted. I was in complete shock and embarrassed that this person didn’t have the proper training to work in such a repretable place. As I’ve taken many times for lunch business partners and never had this treatment this server should have been working in a cafeteria instead of at SHULA’s. As a shula’s member, we like to support our town businesses and with great regret this will be the last time we take anyone to Shulas Steakhouse. What sets any business apart from the rest is how you...
Read moreThis is regarding the Bull Pen which is the signal bar for the golf course. I've eaten here many times and have always been satisfied. The chef here is excellent, and I've never had a "sub-par" meal (pun intended!). The burger comes in several versions and all are great. The NY strip steak sandwich was excellent today as well. But I want to give a special thanks to our server and the chef for going the extra mile today. I ordered a BLT salad with blue cheese to share with a friend. I had forgotten she can't tolerate blue cheese till it arrived and she registered her dismay to me aloud. In an instant, the server whisked it away, and in less than 5 minutes a freshly made salad, with blue cheese on the side, was served to us, all with a smile. That's service! Thanks, gentlemen. See...
