I am a sushi and sashimi connoiseur, and I am proud to say that I have been to many, many, many sushi restaurants, including very expensive boat sushi places, and I will say I have been here more than 20 times. If that does not tell you what you need to know, then I will say right now this is the best place to get sushi, sashimi, curry and pad thai at fair, and a lot of times, incredibly good prices. Their sushi selection is ENORMOUS and everything I have had has been fresh every time I have come. I always start off with the sashimi salad which has tuna, salmon, escolar and today I was surprised with them adding white fish to the variety. It's delicious. Me and my boyfriend get it every time we come here. The ikura(salmon roe) is delicious as well, always. The sushi chefs here are phenominal sushi chefs. Best I have ever seen. The curry is fantastic. Definitely one of my favorites. The pad thai is delicious. My recommendations on some of the best sushi are the Volcano roll, Spicy shrimp roll and the Four friends roll. More to come. This is my usual, but I will be trying other varieties. Not to mention, great prices on them. And the service is spectacular. We are regulars and the people here always treat us like good friends. We always tip them good. They honestly deserve it. Best place in all of Miami Lakes no doubt.

Rainy days after a fun night out for me are meant for something like a good curry or any other Asian delicacy. The King and I, a Miami Lakes staple for about 25 years, hit the spot for some tasty comfort food. This particular Sunday night the place wasn't that packed, and I was able to get a booth immediately. The booths are sectioned off, perfect now in the times of That Which Shall Not Be Named, and each booth had a little TV (showing some good football).

I enjoyed two nicely sized chicken breasts with a generous helping of rich teriyaki sauce. That's right - portion size was such that if it hadn't been a rainy "Recovery Sunday" their teriyaki dish was sufficient for me to split into two meals. The chicken fried rice had plenty of real chicken pieces, which I spiced up with sauce I had left over from the gyoza, as well as a nice helping of eggs and scallions. The rice also had a good texture: not overly sticky yet not dry.

Their Thai donuts caught my eye, but I'll try that next time.Service was really attentive, one of the highlights of a family owned restaurant. Here's to many more years...
