Here is the list they gave me Iam not trying to bad mouth the hotel but it’s just nasty the hallways on first floor where iam staying An when they come an clean your room the paper try give u upfront says an I quote what it’s written LIGHT TOUCH “ cleaning is on request ONLY lol I would say this hotel is worth about 60 a night on a good day But to their credit the bed was clean an comfy an the room was clean. An iam sure the manager will post after this she is sorry that our hotel is not up to par an thank u for the feedback to help us to do better service blah blah blah Is what I read on other reviews u figured she would clean the place but apparently not it continues as is. I think their is a budget maintenance cost that they can’t afford or choose not to pay on the cleaning of this place but i tell ya don’t let the pics fool you that they have on google I’ll post what the reality of this place is. With all that said I hope this place gets better the 2 stars are for the room only
Ps. Bring your own bar of soap the shower gel is good for pretty much nothing. Shampoo ok conditioner ok but the shower gel - meh

Read morethe hotel itself was fine but everything associated with the experience was so frustrating that it completely ruined the experience. it took like 20 minutes to check in, there was one employee at the check in desk and when another employee came to the desk, they checked in two people that had come in after me. They had my reservation details wrong (number of people and type of room).
the room itself was mostly nice but the TV was postioned parallel to the bed at a very awkward angle and none of the channels worked. I noticed some things has not been cleaned, like the place in the bathroom where you place the soap and tissues had been stuffed back into the tissue box, so that was kind of gross. There were also no utensils in the room and I called the front desk and they said I had to go get them from there. This is minor compared to the rest of the issues, but it would have been nice if they had already been in the room, as they often are in other hotels.
The blackout curtains did not do a good job of fully blocking out the light from the street lamp outside which made it difficult to get a good night's sleep with light filtering in from outside.
the next day, my key card stopped working two hours before checkout and I wasn't able to get in through the side door. I asked an employee if they could let me in and they said no. I wanted to call the hotel but there was no phone number to the hotel itself online or on the keycards. I had to go all the way around to the front desk and get the key cards replaced. In general, I found the service kind of curt and stand-off ish. No real apologies were made for any of the issues experienced.
Overall, it was way too much strife for what was supposed to be a very breezy one night's stay of like 15 hours. I found a deal on my room and only paid like $100 but I would have been extremely annoyed with all the issues experienced in such a short period of time.
the parking lot could also use some...
Read morePositives were the lodgings being so close to major roadway . Another nice discovery was having a shopping plaza nearby that featured a Winn- Dixie grocery as well as a terrific local breakfast spot. So, the Sonesta Miami Lakes was conveniently situated with regards to food, supplies, and a change of scenery (especially necessary on a very rainy 3-day weekend in which we came to see live professional tennis). ||Related to the entrance/exit angle: the facility itself contains lots of back and side ground entrances if you’re just wanting to slip in and out easily without fanfare. There are two elevators that navigate Floors 1 through 4 efficiently and promptly. The stairwells are carpeted and clean, as are the hallways. The ground floor houses a guest laundry. ||Staff was helpful and polite, but came off as reserved and even guarded, in affect. One is accustomed to housekeeping staffers who avoid contact with clientele. Generally, I neither expect nor welcome interaction with hotel housekeeping. However, the need for genial feedback is greater with employees such as front counter agents, concierges and even lobby-cafe barristas. The public relations sphere category applies to all of the aforementioned hotel employees, and at Sonesta Select Miami Lakes, many of them are either poorly prepared, poorly equipped, or poorly placed in their jobs in these not-inexpensive lodgings. ||Here, I concede I cannot know the complexities of life that confronts recent transplants. So many of the staffers at jobs which more fitting individuals sniff it, came to the U.S. from Central and South America and Mexico and are a paycheck away from poverty. These folks are looking across at me from a wide, wide ethno -cultural and lingual and socioeconomic divide. By contrast, I embody the established class or caste. This status allows me to enjoy limitless access to capitalism’s many freedoms and...
