Me and my family had reservations at Firebirds for my graduation dinner. Keep in mind we have eaten here several times before and have a had a great experience. So as you could guess it was a bit of a shock to us the poor quality service and poor quality food.
On such a monumental day for our family, our waitress was nice, but we expected better service. We had to ask her for every single thing from bread to warm food to condiments. You name it. Sometimes it seems like she disappeared for 10 to 15 minutes at a time even for simple tasks, such as getting condiments or water. Even during the time spent ordering, she gathered up all the menus and forgot one of the guests hadn’t even ordered yet, there were only 6 of us.
Additionally, when it came time for paying the bill, she sat a stack of checks down on the table and walked away. Not only did we have to sift through the checks to see who’s belonged to who some of them were wrong and had inaccurate food options placed on the ticket. Mind you there were only three checks for six people.
Additionally, something alarming I saw was that the table next to us was dirty filled with food and dirty dishes. I witnessed the host come in “clean“ off the table however, she left crumbs, spilled drinks and knives on the floor under the table all while she set out new “clean” ,silverware and dishes, see the pictures attached. Additionally when I first sat down at our table, the saucer in front of me that had my silverware on it, still had food on it, my aunts steak knife had leftover food on it.
Lastly, I ordered a medium well steak and au gratin potatoes, as you can see in the picture the steak looks overcooked, and the potatoes look near burnt. And considering the high prices of the food there I would expect better quality and more care to be taken with the food. I expect to get what I pay for.
After tonight’s experience this was enough for us to not return to Firebirds again hopefully after reading this, you have a better experience or you find somewhere else to go!...
Read moreAt Firebirds Wood Fired Grill in Miamisburg, I began with their chicken tortilla soup—a warm, thick, comforting start that was as satisfying as it was flavorful. It had just the right blend of heat and heartiness to feel indulgent.
Initially, I had my eye on their deviled eggs, but the full portion seemed a bit ambitious. In a thoughtful gesture, the chef offered to send out a half order, giving me a taste without overwhelming the main event. It’s small touches like this that elevate a dining experience.
For drinks, I went with Alex’s Fresh Lemonade. Not only is it a refreshing choice, but every purchase supports Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation to help fight childhood cancer—a cause that resonates deeply. With a donation of $1.25 from each glass, Firebirds has raised over $3.5 million since 2012, which is an impressive testament to both their values and the generosity of their diners.
Next came a warm roll with soft butter, fresh from the oven. Simple, but there’s something almost ritualistic about a good bread basket—it sets the tone for the meal. I showed restraint, though, and saved room for the main course.
For dinner, I went with the baby back ribs, glazed with a Java barbecue sauce that brought an unexpected but welcome twist. These ribs were perfectly tender, effortlessly falling off the bone, and paired well with the grilled street corn I chose as a side. The corn had a smoky, slightly charred flavor that was spot-on.
I wrapped up the meal with a slice of warm carrot cake drizzled in salted caramel sauce—a dessert that was rich without being over-the-top, and a sweet finish to an already satisfying experience.
Throughout, the service was outstanding. Sara, my server, was attentive and friendly, making sure everything was just right. Firebirds Wood Fired Grill might be part of a larger chain, but the experience here felt personal, with a focus on quality food and warm hospitality. It’s a place that doesn’t rely on pretension, just well-executed, comforting dishes in a relaxed setting—definitely...
Read moreSo disappointed. It was mediocre at best. Texas road house is better. WAY BETTER! My friend ordered a rib eye which was better than my prime rib but was nothing special. It was all edible but sadly the best thing that came from the entire meal was the 5 layer lemon cake that was not made at the restaurant. Of course like so many restaurants the deserts are made by another and shipped to the restaurant for purchase. I ordered the deviled eggs as an appetizer. Who doesnt love a good deviled egg right?? Very mustard plain egg with a piece of sweet bacon on top. Again nothing special for a 165.00 meal. Texas road house or even long horn ( I am not a fan of long horn at all ) would have been better. There were only bar tables left to sit at which for us was fine. No problem because we had not made a reservation ( assuming those that had made reservations must not cook at home and or have one of those family members who cooks only with a microwave ) so we order drinks. Our waitress was the nicest thing about our dinner out but we quickly grabbed seats at the bar that became available so we could have a little elbow room. As the bar tables are really small and only meant for a drink and conversation. We cashed out and tipped our waitress before receiving our meal. We did not mind at all because even tho we hadnt received our meals yet she had earned a nice tip. The bar staff on the other hand stood right in front of us the entire hour we were there never looking at us or asking if we needed more drinks ( where they messed up because more would have been ordered and a nice tip would have been left for our bar server ) but we believe we were being punished for moving seats before we received our meals. It's rare for either of us to leave a restaraunt disappointed but in all honesty I would have eaten at a waffle house for my valentines meal and been happier than having ate...
