✨ A Magical Night at EL TURCO – Upper Buena Vista ✨
I was in the middle of assisting a client when she suggested dinner. “Let’s go to Upper Buena Vista!” she said — and I immediately agreed. What a wonderful decision that turned out to be!
Upper Buena Vista is a hidden gem in Miami — a serene oasis tucked beneath towering trees and strung with soft lights. It’s like stepping into a secret garden where the energy of the city melts into something more relaxed, artistic, and magical. The centerpiece? A majestic, sacred tree surrounded by cozy boutiques and vibrant restaurants. And that’s exactly where we found EL TURCO, glowing with warmth and charm.
We tried to sit where the lights were brightest and the vibe liveliest. Though we didn’t have a reservation, the host greeted us with a smile and said, “Not a problem! Please follow me.” We were guided to a corner table with the best view in the house — we could see the tree, the heart of the restaurant, and the open kitchen where all the magic happens.
The ambience was exquisite, a perfect mix of rustic charm and Mediterranean flair. From the moment we sat down, every member of the staff made us feel like family. Even the chef came out to greet us! I had my dog, TJ, with me, and to my surprise, he was not only welcomed — he was pampered with love and even a bite of deliciousness.
Now, let’s talk about the food: 🥣 Lentil Soup – comforting and rich in flavor, the kind of dish that warms your soul. 🥗 Protein Bowl with Kavurma – 24-hour braised beef, kisir, hummus, fresh cherry tomatoes, and lettuce, all served with warm, fresh pita bread. A perfect blend of bold spices and freshness. 🍕 Lahmacun – a delicious flatbread topped with seasoned ground lamb and beef, onion salad, tomatoes, and lemon. Each bite was layered with taste and tradition.
Every detail — from presentation to flavor — was impeccable. The textures, aromas, and spices transported us straight to Turkey.
We left completely happy, full, and grateful, already planning our return. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, EL TURCO is a must-visit.
🌿 5 Stars. Highly recommend. We’ll be back — and next time, with more...

From the moment you step in, you're welcomed with a stylish yet cozy ambiance that perfectly balances traditional Turkish aesthetics with modern Miami flair.
The food is exceptional—authentic, flavorful, and clearly crafted with care. The menemen was a standout: soft-scrambled eggs cooked with tomatoes and spices, served with freshly baked simit and pita bread that transported me straight to Istanbul. The meze selection is varied and beautifully presented, especially the hummus, ezme, and kopoglu. Every dish feels homemade, yet refined. The grilled fish plate was another highlight: perfectly cooked with just the right amount of char, complemented by a fresh herb salad and tangy lemon—light, flavorful, and satisfying.
Service is another highlight. The staff was attentive, genuinely friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They offered excellent recommendations and timed each course perfectly, allowing for a relaxed and immersive dining experience.
The Turkish tea and coffee at the end added a lovely, authentic touch—and the baklava? Possibly the best I’ve had outside of Turkey: buttery, flaky, and not overly sweet.
Prices are fair for the area, especially considering the quality and experience. El Turco feels like more than a meal—it’s a cultural experience, ideal for a leisurely brunch, casual lunch, or unique dinner spot.

The menu is great!! Their lamb kebabs are perfectly seasoned and tender, while the hummus and baba ganoush are some of the best I’ve had—creamy, smoky, and served with warm, fluffy pita. The mezze platters are great for sharing, giving a wonderful variety to sample.
