So what do I know about arepas? Not much, but I was also so unimpressed I felt the need to write this. It felt like a colossal waste of money because they were expensive!! The vegan ones with black rice and sweet plantains looked much more appetizing (my friend was vegan). The meat arepas were blah. I read reviews that the Shredded beef and Reina Pepiada were the ones to get, but I found both were really not great. The shredded beef had too much cheese and not enough beef flavor, and the Reina Pepiada I was warned is a bit like chicken salad but with avocado mixed in. Some reviews mentioned the fact that it was served cold was unappetizing. I happen to agree with them there, it was almost inedible. Maybe order something other than what I got ...I heard the Tequenos were good.

Staying at a local hotel, my friend and I decided to go for a walk and came across this little restaurant. As it was our first time have Venezuelan food, the gentleman behind the counter explained the menu thoroughly and we decided on the shredded beef & cheese Arepa and the shredded chicken & cheese Arepa with a portion of chips. We were surprised at how good the food was. The flatbreads were filled with plenty of beef and chicken. Portion sizes were just right and priced reasonably, too. With a couple of beers to wash it down, it was perfect. It's a shame we didn't find this place earlier. Food and service were spot on. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great arepas, but even better Tequeños. They’re amazing. We got the Pabellon arepa with beef and the cavon fish arepa, both incredible. Fair prices. Especially delicious are the sweet plantains. Got two Polar beers as well, good drink to pair with the food. Ah! And it’s also dog friendly. The one down side for me is that the place is located right next to the highway and the railroad. If you don’t mind loud honks and loud noises (at least if you choose to sit outside), then the overall space is great.

La Latina used to be my favorite Venezuelan restaurant in Miami. However, I think they changed management or they aren’t focused anymore. Empanadas: it is basically 90%, 10% meat Arepas: I ordered one with bacon and it was the worst bacon I have tried in my life Sauces: they still really good. Time / inventory: they always have problems with inventory. The past 3 times I have gone they are always missing something from the order and they realize that after you pay. In my last visit they realize they didn’t have something from the order 20 minutes later and they asked to me wait 30 minutes so they can cook it. I waited l, it was not ready after it. At the end I ended up waiting 90 minutes and food was not ready. The time with the rest of the order took over 45 minutes so if you decide to go there make sure you have plenty of time because you will be there for at least 45 - 60 minutes. Customer service: extremely bad. There’s a lady at the cashier who is extremely rude, and the guy who moves between the cashier and kitchen just try to find excuses to justify mistakes instead of a way to satisfy client.

La Latina is the definition of how a great restaurant can turn into a really bad restaurant because of the people who are working. I won’t go ever again mainly because of the customer service, the time they take to cook and the taste of the food is not amazing anymore, a...

I was getting dessert next door so I thought it would be a good idea to stop by and pick up something quick. As I was watching my order be made I noticed the cook was moving it around with his bare hands. I ask to speak to him to keep from making any scene. I told him what I observed and asked very nicely if he could me it over for me. He asked why and told me his hands were clean. Still in a nice manner I told him it would make me feel more safe if he wore gloves which most cooks I have watched make my food do, If not they've never had a attitude for making it over it's more like their bad. He was about to make it over but made it seem as if I made some outlandish request. I thought it would just be better after that to get a refund. Then, the manager came to the front annoyed and gave me a refund but made it a point to throw the money down on the counter. I should have known better when I came in the cashier was...

Lunch is my favorite part of the day, so when I choose a restaurant, I do it carefully because I don't want to ruin my mood. Said that, after having lunch at La Latina earlier today, I feel sad and disappointed to the point that I'm doing something I never do: write a bad review. My cheese and avocado arepa was undercooked and it broke almost immediately, the cachapa was broken in half and had a pinch of butter on top. Literally a pinch, they didn't even try to spread it. Like it was made with zero love and care. The beef empanada was good and that is why I put two starts instead of one. And the service was not good either. When we entered the restaurant, the women behind the counter just looked at us, as if we where interrupting them. They weren't rude, just like uninterested. It wasn't a...
