I will never recommend this Sweat 440 location to anyone .
I stopped by the Sweat 440 in Midtown today for a 6:30 pm class to redeem my “first class free” offer. I work in a co-working space nearby with other members who have used this location and said great things, so wanted to give it a try.
When I arrived, the front desk woman was very curt from the start of our interaction. She jumped right in asking me how I heard about the gym, told me I somehow had 2 profiles, side-barred with another guest who walked up and started talking, and then proceeded to point at a sign that said you need to show a license that is within 3 miles of the studio because in her words, they’re “only giving class to people who are going to give them future business”. Ok.
At that point I told her I had left my wallet at home, but I could show her a photo of my ID. When I showed her my ID photo, she put her hand on my phone and zooms in. With the same attitude she’s had from the beginning she states “that’s not within 3 miles, that’s in Hallandale”, to which I respond “yes but I live in Wynwood, just haven’t changed my ID”(which, most people know that no one changes their ID every single time they move).
She’s cuts me off and then abruptly says in a snarky tone “well rules are rules and unless you show me something else you can’t take the class”. All of this took place while the other guest that had walked up was 2 feet next to me. So I told her “that’s fine, cancel this class, and I will never give you my business” and I walk out. As I’m leaving she yells “Have a great day” in a sarcastic tone. Mind you, she didn’t look up from her computer and actually at me, not even once during the entire time.
The entire interaction and demeanor of this person was completely unprofessional, distasteful, and uncalled for. I understand that “rules are rules” but there is also a better way to handle the situation. She could have suggested I show her anything else, an Amazon account, a bill, something! If she had had a different tone, I wouldn’t be upset.
With so many other fitness studios in the Midtown area with much nicer, professional staff, I would not give my business to this one or recommend it to...
Read moreVery horrible staff. I had given a review then right after I did, on the same exact day I was treated extremely poorly and utterly disgusted by what the staff actually did to me. I really can't even explain how bad it was. They are definitely driven off of being nice if you'll help them out a lot. I am aware of exchanging favors, but I know when I am being lied to and I have helped so many people in my life time. The staff did this on my birthday. I walked in and they had a male in for a few hours.... The male who I met was driven to use my pain in my body, to help him, but not in a small way... I had been having extreme amounts of pain and I have always been very active. I'm very beautiful and what's really pathetic is that some people in life really take out their past traumas on new people. I have always brought a lot of business and money into every single gym that I've walked into or paid... A lot of people assume I'm actually being rewarded for all my hard work over the years , and all people have done is take, take and take some MORE. I would not recommend a gym that treated me so poorly on my birthday. I'm the type of person to go above and beyond, as well as clean and do the dirty work along side a team. Not giving up is key, but that doesn't mean sacrifice your self respect and get abused. It's gut wrenching to know that I had told one of the staff about my situation on my birthday and they showed me that instead of being kind, as I would if the roles were reversed, because of how many times I've freely given massages, clothes, money, and more to people along my journey I saw that at my lowest moment the staff decided to have a bad attitude about it. At someone's lowest moment, when they are still extremely kind to others.... Do NOT kick them when...
Read moreFirst impressions matter, I have been to the Sweat 440 in Miami Lakes with a family member and I absolutely loved it. I decided to come to my closer location here in Midtown. Leo was amazing, he has the best energy and I signed my membership with him!!
I did cancel my membership due to an issue that could have easily been resolved but it was poorly managed. I had brought a guest who had a few free classes aside from my free monthly pass, the “ manager “ as she stated she was… made the whole experience horrible. There was only a total of 4 in the establishment and she kept interrupting our workout because 2 new people came in.
This is suppose to be “ you’re never late “ workout and she didn’t understand that concept with 6 people in the gym I can’t imagine a full house. I do love Sweat but the experience turned me off, ESPECIALLY since she’s the manager… poorly resolved. hopefully I can sign ant a different location if...
