We were invited to Level 6 by one of the Chefs to celebrate a mutual friend's birthday.

When you enter on the 1st floor, the sense of "classy & friendly" is the immediate. And you haven't even made it to the 6th floor yet.

After a quick elevator ride, the doors open and you have the feeling of being at a very nice, outdoor cocktail party. Our initial thought was "what a beautiful place and incredible view from just the 6th floor of a Grove building."

We were welcomed by the Staff and decided to go to the bar while we waited on the other guests. The Bar Staff were friendly and pointed out the wine offerings and the list of signature drinks. While we are normally rum (Mrs.) and bourbon (Mr.) drinkers, the list had a few drinks that caught our eye. The Mrs. chose the Harissa Marissa which was described as a spicy margarita. It had to be one off the best cocktails we've ever had. The spice was just right and did not overwhelm the tequila. The Mr. chose the Tia Marmalade. Do not be put off by the name - the bourbon rules on this drink! A little bit sweet but the bitters make it very smooth. We stuck with these through the night and had no issue with how tasty they were!

After being seated, our server Taylor (she did an outstanding job!) explained the tapas situation to us and checked our drinks. The Chef had set the menu for our celebration so we were free at this point to explore the space while we waited for the food to appear.

To say Level 6 is gorgeous is a true understatement. We would be proud for this to be our home! The sitting areas, the tables and surrounding areas are beautiful. The decor comes together nicely with a vibrant tile wall that we understand is the corporate logo for this restaurant management group. We hope the Designer received a huge bonus for this success. Please notice that on pleasant evenings, they open up the ceiling! The stars and moon jump out at this point

When you get past how great the space is, the view from the building itself is another eye opener! The Grove has always been proud of being "green" but from Level 6, you'll have a new appreciation of this area. You'll catch yourself walking the entire space just to see the surrounding area along with a view of the bay. Even walking to the restrooms (immaculate!) is a pleasure because of the view.

After enjoying the view, we saw that platters of food were inbound and we sat down to a feast. As Taylor and the Team brought platters with zucchini flowers, salt cod croquettes, octopus, tuna tartare, oysters and the twin paellas - seafood (mariscos) and chicken (pollo), we were amazed!

The food was hot and the presentation was gorgeous. At 1st, you have a hard time deciding where to start. The zucchini flowers were light and so flavorful. While we love croquettes, we had not has this version before - the flavor was very mild and the crust was just right. The octopus (one of our favorites) was just firm enough and had a great flavor. The tuna tartare was fresh with a hint of truffle. The oysters were also fresh and firm. The paellas (insert an ahhhhh.. here) were just amazing. We would have fought our fellow diners for these but there was plenty to go around.

The Staff was very attentive and we felt like rock stars with all the attention we were receiving. By this time the restaurant had started to fill up and we still had a birthday dessert to go. The Chefs had a triple tapas size cake offering for us - again, amazing!

For years, we have avoided the Grove because there was nothing new that we felt was "comfortable" and not stuffy. From the minute we stepped off the elevator, we knew this would be a special occasion and Chef Chris, Taylor and the entire Staff showed us an amazing time. The food & drinks, the ambiance and the experience were excellent. We cannot say THANKS enough to them for a great evening and we look forward to returning...

About 4 months ago I gave Level 6 a two-star review for poor organization & customer service. Unfortunately, after giving the restaurant a second chance last night, my rating has dropped to one star. Upon arrival, we decided to have a drink at the bar until the rest of our party arrived. We all ordered a happy hour drink and were enjoying our conversation when the manager came twice asking if he could take us to our table. We wondered why he was so insistent on us moving to a table & he stated it was because 'there is a two hour limit on the table'. This is where everything began to go downhill. In my opinion, it puts a damper on the dining experience when the night begins with 'hurry up and eat! you are on a time crunch' . Additionally, if this was a well-established restaurant in Miami such as Zuma I am more inclined to understand a time-limit on tables but this is a new restaurant that is still trying to make its name. Rushing people in & out comes off quite pretentious. Yet, we soon learned the real reason he wanted us to move to a table about two inches from the bar. When our waitress finally comes to take our order we ask to order the same round of happy drinks again to learn that happy hour is only available at the bar. We were VERY upset about this because (A) we gave up our seats (B) we were rushed to a table just to pay double the price of already overpriced drinks and (C) nobody ever told us. Hence, we explained that we were completely unaware of this ridiculous rule and asked if we could have happy hour drinks at the table to which they said no. We considered moving back to the bar but it was full by now so we had no choice but to order full-price drinks. IMPORTANT: do not get scammed by this place! Their wine bottles are comedically overpriced- they wanted us to pay 88 dollars for a bottle of Whispering Angel (I buy this at my local CVS for 30 dollars). After much deliberation and aggressively waving our waiter down to take an order (quite literally waving at her across the restaurant for 10 minutes) , we opt for the worlds smallest 'cocktail'. Please see the photo attached for reference, but you essentially pay 24 dollars for three sips from what is the size of a shot glass. In regards to the food, it is a similar situation where you receive small mediocre portions for exceptional prices. Keep in mind, a plate of brussel sprouts is 16 dollars at the table and 8 at the bar (which once again I have to stress was in arms reach of our table). I could go on & on about the poor service, prices and drinks but I will end this review on a humorous note. One of the guests at our table went to the women's restroom & opened the stall to find a man peeing all over the toilet. She quickly left & said sorry, thinking she had accidentally gone to the men's toilet but only to find she had in fact not and this guy said 'well the mens was full so I just went in this one'. We laughed it off, but it really had us thinking: is level 6 a restaurant or a frat house party with overpriced drinks?

After a humorously bad second experience, it is safe to say I will not be returning until some MAJOR changes are made.

EDIT: Just want to note it is very clear that this venue does not care to improve or take accountability for their mishaps considering there are many bad reviews and not one has been responded to...

We had a wonderful experience enjoying the recently opened Level 6 Rooftop in Coconut Grove.

I have to talk about the views. The setting was as good as advertised. It's literally in the heart of Coconut Grove on the 6th floor of the building, with stunning views of The Barnacle Historic State Park and the ocean. Even walking by the bathroom to an unused area in the back, there was glass wrapping around the corner giving panoramic views of Miami.

We were lucky to catch another brisk and sunny South Florida day, and I wanted to make sure that we got there at 5 pm when they opened to enjoy the sunset. (Apparently they do brunch earlier in the day and close until evening.) The roof is retractable and can be opened one panel at a time, and early on in our meal that's exactly what they did to our delight.

The bar area was standing room only and was lively. For us dining, the music was a tiny bit too loud to hear each other well, but everyone in the place was clearly having a great time, including us.

The drinks were different in a creative and flavorful way, the highlight being the purple Forbidden Fruit sangria.

It's a tapas menu, and a little pricey but most of it was very delicious and well made. We started off with Pan Con Anchovy, which had a cultured butter and parsley drizzle that was tasty and anchovies that were salted just right. The Pollo Croquettas were fantastic, they fell apart and had perfect breading. There was a very pleasant garlic aoli, black truffle and manchego cheese dressing on top, which would be a theme on a lot of the dishes. Just a delightful mix.

The Murcia Al Vino was a simple but yummy combination of crunchy bread, smooth Spanish goat cheese, and quince made into a hardened puree. The Gambas Ajillo was meaty shrimp with perfect char-marks, in a blended parsley sauce with shaved garlic. Excellent.

We switched to entrees, and the tuna tartare was amazing. Savory tuna with avocado, lemon, truffle and creme fraiche hidden underneath. The seeded cracker was a perfect counterbalance and I couldn't stop going back for more.

Wagyu striploin steak was perfectly cooked. I hadn't had a romescu sauce before (tomato based sauce with a variety of red bell pepper), but it was so well received by everyone, including me who normally avoids bell peppers in any sauce. There was a sweet agrodulce onion in the middle that made the dish, and the meat was very tender.

Besides the prices being a bit high for the size of some of the dishes, my only other quibble was  the restaurant listed that Wagyu striploin under the "Sharing" section....and then brought us a 7 ounce steak. For that size and price, I would have shared the $76 ribeye with my wife that was 14 ounces. I'm sure everyone is different, but personally I don't mind paying $38 a person for a 14 oz. steak we can split....if it's that high-quality.

Overall, the ambiance was incredible, the food matched, and this was a restaurant I would definitely love to bring non-Floridian friends to so they can drink in the beauty of...
