Look. I worked here for five years, and I just wanted to say this was the WORST place you could be in right now. The other Bobs I genuinely enjoy and have not worked at, but my comment refers to only the Miamisburg store on Byers.
I did everything except manage, and the company does not treat you right. I was treated as a mule, since i was there for so long things were just expected of me which wasnt nerve wracking, but its the fact we completely removed a position in the store and then the front of house workers had to do a lot of extra work. I was expected to do all the grunt work, cause everyone was new and the people staff was so tiny there would just be me, and a server. And one server js always going to be busy, as she's always alone. The GM would allow customers, even coworkers, to threaten your life and the company won't do anything about it. The DM, Dan, didnt even want to hear my story. Didn't want to see my video just because the coworker stopped threatening me after I started recording, but that didnt stop my coworker from going inside after threatening me in the lot and telling my GM, Debbie, that he wanted to kill me. I had employees willing to vouch or talk to either Debbie or Dan about multiple situations they were in in which my coworker who threatened me, Jason (aka JT) and both of them did NOTHING! Didnt want to even hear my witnesses statements. Didnt even want to talk to me about it either, just absolutely horrible managing. I go to the corporate office, just for them to assign Dan to my case and he didnt care. He chose favoritism towards Debbie, and I did not feel safe.He barely listened to me, and every chance he got he cut me off telling me his hands were tied. Like he wasn't even trying to help me,he wanted me to sign this paper in which stated he "did his job" but i definently felt coerced into signing this paper in fear my job would've been lost. They were trying to send me to another store even though I was the one being threatened, MULTIPLE TIMES TRIED TO SEND ME TO OTHER STORES, and the guy threatening me is double my age, double my size, and did not get ANY punishment. They treated me like i was the nuisance even though i was the kne being threatened. THEY EVEN CUT MY HOURS FROM 38 TO 26 IN 2 WEEKS WHEN I REFUSED TO GO TO ANOTHER STORE. 12 HOURS OVER 2 WEEKS, IT WAS RETALLIATION. DID THEY TOUCH HIS HOURS, HECK NO THEY DIDNT. I do not wish to cause a fight, or anything crazy. BUT IT WAS RETALLIATION. No excuses, the week after i called corporate i got 8 hours taken right off my schedule. I ended up quitting 3 weeks after I signed this paper, ultimately putting in a 2 week notice. The week after 8 hours were taken, 6 more hours were taken. When stuff breaks, they don't want to replace it. Like the oven mitt, they won't until you can physically burn yourself everytime on the glove. There's a giant coffee maker collecting dust on the opposite side of the room from when you walk in. Sitting for years. Soap dispensary hasnt worked in god knows how long and they don't want to fix it. Same for a lot of the paper towel dispensary. There's bottles we use for sauces and we are incredibly short on them, and they refuse to buy more. They post "beverage performance" on the server line, and everyone can see it. They put smileys next to people who do well, and then they write horrible things for people that don't.They also hire managers that sit down all day long, like Bob. Will sit down at booths for an hour, then go to the bathroom for a half hour, thrn go sit in the office until its around closing time then he gets to work. The other managers have accepted his laziness, and just do his job while he sits down. They also post "beverage percent" and compare it to the staff. They write bad stuff for people who don't achieve it, theres more I wish to say but my comment is limited.
I hope this finds the right people, and thank you...
Read moreOur breakfast go-to. I'm glad Bob's has added flavored creamers. I find their coffee is a bit bitter for my taste. (Note, for those who may have caught my review of Cracker Barrel, Bob Evans coffee is not nearly as bitter flavored as CB's is...) Still, for a coffee-holic, I will drink the stuffing out of Bob Evan's breakfast blend with a bit of creamer and sugar in it.
Breakfasts are always amazing. I appreciate the variety at Bob's. I normally pick one thing and stick with it, but at Bob Evans, I eat an assortment of foods, from their pot roast sandwich to their turkey dinners, from simple eggs and home fries and biscuits and gravy to their awesome wildfire chicken salad. Soups are flavorful and filling, and no fault in their other baked good items. We enjoy picking up a four pack of their cinnamon blossoms are oh... so ... good.
They have been shaking things up a bit (and possibly since they got bought by another company, things may change even more)... Now, instead of 2 pieces of bread (love the pumpkin, blueberry or cinnamon streusel breads!) you get one... but that's because it is "unlimited"... Though you can no longer take them home!
Same thing with drinks. Most all of them are now not just refillable but unlimited while in-store. That triple hot chociolate with the chocolate whipped topping and chocolate bits? Yep, refill that bad boy. Go on. You know you want to. While I miss my little coffee pots, I can understand them doing it this way. Time will tell if the new policy is a winner or not, but I think it's a good thing.
As with most chains, there are days when you have good service, days when it's exemplary and days when it is so bad you wonder why you would ever come again. But you do. Because, well, it's Bob Evans Restaurant. One bad server doesn't spoil the...
Read moreEverything was wonderful! I'm a recent amputee and still on crutches. They were pretty busy about 6:30pm on a Thursday. So the girl working carry out, very quickly, came around the counter and sat me at a table super close so I didn't have walk to far. I felt bad Because was just me and I was at a table for 4. Being a server before losing my leg, I know sometimes that makes a difference in the money you make when one person takes up your 4 person tables. Anyways, my server- whose name I cannot remember (I'm so so sorry😟) reassured me I was just fine there. She was wonderful! As I said they were very busy, but great staff, order taken and drinks out right away.... Food out and still hot pretty quickly, server very on top of her job and attentive. To top it off, while I was waiting on a to go dessert 🍧, she then offered to take my bill up and pay n bring me my change, just to make it a little easier on me! 💜 This is kind of a long review I know, but due to the fact I was a server for 25 yrs and know what it entails sometimes and the fact the I am a recent amputee who feels like I'm always in the way and too much of a bother at times.. I wanted management there to know what a great job they all did. And also, sometimes it's just those little things they all did for me that makes all the difference. I actually sat down for a nice meal and didn't feel like a bother once. THANK YOU ALL!!! (I was there Thursday june 13th and sat at table that was part booth with 2 table chairs right by hostess podium. If management could let the server and also the carryout girl tonight know what an amazing...
