The only reason any stars are given is because the manager really was exceptional. We went in, it’s satuday and they were steady but not what I’d say to be overly busy. Considering there was staff that found time to be on cell phones while my husband and I waited a considerable amount of time to even be offered a drink. Few waitresses passed us and one even asked who had our table but none offered a drink in the mean time while they shuffled to find our waitress for the night.
Interaction 1) waitress stops over, asks our drinks, I’m visually irritated and rightfully so. She takes our drink and food order (after the time we waited we knew what we wanted) and rolls her eyes as she begins to walk away.
Que manager: offers to cover our app! Awesome. Didn’t have to but I appreciated the effort.
Interaction 2) waitress drops app and walks away with barely a word spoken
Interaction 3) waitress returns with food takes app plate and leaves again
I intently stare her down until she clearly notices since she’s clearly avoiding my table.
Interaction 4) hey can I get some lime? (Tacos are supposed to have cilantro lime slaw on them however it was definitely just some cabbage nothing else mixed) I figured I won’t complain the manager comped our app and I was appreciative
Interaction 5) she drops the limes and leaves before I can even get a thank you out. Her avoiding attiude continues
Manager comes back to offer us boxes since I ate 1 out of 3 tacos and my husband resorted to just eating the fish from the taco and nothing else. I delclined and told him I simply just didn’t like it I expected it to have the cilantro lime slaw but hey! Maybe I read wrong. We’d just like to get our tab and go.
Manager came back after inspecting said food and actually ended up comping the whole thing. Totally did not expect that, we fought back some to pay. But he declined our offer.
I guess, I’m not really so upset with the food as our cheese skewer app was awesome! I’m upset with the waitress and her complete lack of customer service. She didn’t even stop over to apologize for her behavior, for our wait, or for the food discrepancy. I sell cars, I am expected a high level of customer service so I expect the same in return when out. Maybe I expect too much. However her careless, avoiding and eye rolling attitude is what ruined the meal. It’s whats ruined the first evening I’ve been off at a reasonable time to even sit down for dinner with my husband somewhere for a long time.
We may return we may not. Shame on the waitress. Kudos to manager for his attention and show...
Read moreI'd like to compare Max & Erma's to many establishments (Applebee's and Fridays for example), and yet the more I eat at these places the more I realize that it's the creativity of their burger menu that begins to set them apart from one another. Most salads at a restaurant such as this will be the same, and most pasta based entrees will be the same. Yet, in most places the burger menu is what will be the deciding factor in how I rate and review. With that being said, Max & Erma's actually has some burgers that are quite different. I ended up ordering the garbage burger which came as followed "Crisp smoked bacon, cheddar, Swiss, American, mozzarella, sautéed mushrooms & onions, fresh guacamole & marinara. Served with lettuce, tomato & onion on a toasted brioche bun".
I decided to ask for the burger without the marinara sauce because that just seems to be a bit much. Besides that the burger was actually pretty good. Juicy meat and the toppings weren't just thrown on there, although with a burger with it's name you'd expect it to be sloppy and it wasn't. It's as if someone took their time to make sure you can actually enjoy the burger. Oh, and endless fries, which are pretty good mind you.
The interior was a lot larger than I thought it was, with plenty of antiques as decor. A few TVs around that were playing ESPN, and even a family focused area. I'd easily recommend this place to anyone with children as the staff were very attentive...
Read more⭐ 1 Star I just worked a 12-hour shift, came home exhausted, and this is what I was delivered from Max & Erma’s — these sad, dry, overcooked wing. The quality is absolutely unacceptable. They look burnt, dried out, and like they were scraped from the bottom of a pan and thrown into a box with zero care. I order via Door Dash and my driver was waiting at the restaurant for my order and sent me a message. I’m not understanding what the wait was for. The door dash driver delivered my order promptly( I was looking at the map). I ordered dinner via DoorDash because of my long day at work and standing 12 hrs on my feet. I am a very understand Woman but I expect my food to be fresh, edible, and prepared with some basic standard of quality. Instead, I received food that looks like it sat around all day and was reheated until it turned to leather. This is beyond disappointing and shows a complete lack of pride in what’s being served to paying customers. What’s worse, this chicken was for my 6 year old daughter who has ADHD…. After a long day of work, the last thing anyone wants is to waste their hard-earned money on food that should have never left the kitchen. Do better, Max & Erma’s. I did call and speak to a woman name Alicia*, who identified herself as a Manager. She was very empathetic and I appreciated her calm tone with me but dinner was still ruined for my...
