If I could give this place zero stars I would, but unfortunately Google doesn’t allow that. $60 for 2 bagels made incorrectly, Two hashbrowns drenched in old rancid oil that tasted incredibly bitter, and two flat bottled sodas. The café literally reeked of old fry oil when I walked in so that should’ve deterred me, but I still wanted to give this place a chance. Big mistake. It’s not enough that the food was terrible and criminally overpriced. The staff is awful. The guy at the front with glasses literally made me feel like I was so annoying for ordering food like why are you mad at me for placing an order. And the dude behind the counter that makes the bagels and his little girly sidekick were aggressive and angry when I pointed out that the bagels were made without the substitutions I asked for. I will say after being incredibly hostile and staring at me with the most vacant expression they did offer to make me another one. However, I was certain they would spit in my food if I actually went through with that option so I just took my overpriced inedible bagels and left. Entire experience was so horrendous that I just had to leave a review because people deserve to know what they’re getting themselves into when they order a bagel without checking the prices because you assume there’s no way in hell one bagel...

If you haven’t tried Great Bagel in Middletown yet, you are seriously missing out! The bagels are absolutely next-level—perfectly chewy on the outside, soft on the inside, and packed with flavor. You can tell they’re made fresh and with care. The spreads and sandwiches are just as amazing—everything tastes thoughtful, high-quality, and downright delicious.
The vibe inside is warm and welcoming, with friendly staff who clearly love what they do. It’s the kind of spot that makes you want to slow down and savor your food (even if you’re grabbing something quick on the go).
This place easily rivals any “big city” bagel shop, but with the charm and friendliness you only get...
Read moreI was there to get the bagel with lox and cream cheese to go and staff recommended the NYC bagel(schmear, lox, tomato, red onion & capers). Ordered mine with an egg bagel and staff recommended the scallion schmear. The bagel was fresh and the bagel sandwich was good. My only complaint is it definitely needed more lox and capers. There was a good amount of cream cheese and tomato (which was delicious) but not much smoked salmon.$14 bagel sandwich (including tax, not including tip). I will give them another try, happy to...
