Not recommended for phone repair. Messed up my phone- read on.
Had an iPhone screen replaced here because of the promised warranty. That's a good one. This Batteries and bulbs location informed me half way through disassembling the phone that they would not honor any warranty because the the frame was "supposedly damaged." I imagine they use that one a lot.
Since this was a work phone, it was half taken apart and I wasn't paying the bill I told them to go ahead.
After this screen was replaced, I placed the phone in a new otterbox defender case and installed a tempered glass shield. I wasn't taking any chances of the new screen getting damaged.
3 months later this screen shattered. The otterbox was in no way damaged nor the tempered glass over the screen. The screen actually shattered underneath a perfectly good and undamaged tempered glass shield.
After this, my workplace decided to just replace my entire phone. Because of that, the damaged phone became my property and this is where things became Really interesting.
About Six months later, I decided to repair this phone again myself.
When I disassembled the phone for repair I found that the "techs" at Batteries and bulbs had left out screws, the inside was dirty and smeared with what appeared to be silicon, pieces of the phone brackets were loose inside the phone and pieces of the phone were actually missing! Yeah, that's right- missing.
These were small pieces that were misplaced when they disassembled this phone. I only noticed the missing pieces because I was meticulous about labeling every part that came out, watching a video at the same time showing every single piece to be removed. I needed them to transfer over to the new screen.
Obviously, I didn't have the pieces because they were "left" on batteries and bulbs floor alongside the $99 the repair cost my company.
I did end up successfully repairing the phone myself and did a far better and professional job than this place because I actually care about how I do a tech repair job.
My advice, Do Not Let this place repair your phone. You will have No Way of knowing if pieces inside your phone are gone or screws missing. I only know about the lousey repair work because their screen shattered in a "armored phone" and i disassembled it for a rework.
I have photographs of the phone during disassembly and missing items, missing screws found during the repair and I may add these if possible.
That's all my wife heard that night, photos being taken and a lot of cursing about batteries and bulbs. They deserve a zero.
To the owner - don't even bother to respond. I reworked the phone, its fixed properly and there is nothing else I require from you guys. You tell your "kid techs" that they can not rely on magnetics to make sure parts are not lost. Most of the missing pieces were pieces that are not magnetic, leading me to believe they rely on that. Also tell them to wear gloves or at least clean their hands, the inside of this phone looked like it was...
Read moreLet me caveat this by saying that the people working were very nice. That is why I am giving them two stars. After making an appointment online yesterday, and receiving emails confirming my appointment, when I arrived today, I was informed that he had just left me a message that they did not have any of the parts for a battery replacement in stock. Additionally, even though I was able to put in all of the information on their website, detailing the exact phone that I had and that the battery needed to be replaced, the man working informed me that because the screen would need to be replaced, it would actually be twice the price that it had estimated. Finally, waiting for the parts to come in would likely take until after the new-year. My call-log shows that he didn't call me until it was time for me to walk in to my appointment, even though they had been open for two hours already. I understand that websites can have glitches, but after bringing my baby on a trip across town through traffic for an appointment that they already knew would not amount to anything, I am disappointed with the company and do not plan on returning. Again, the people working were nice besides not calling to let me know that I shouldn't waste my time or gas coming there, and hopefully they had just been busy...
Read moreI strongly advise against utilizing the services of Batteries Plus Bulbs in Middletown, Kentucky. At the end of October, I entrusted them with my phone for a screen repair. Within a mere week, a prominent white line materialized across the screen. Upon contacting the manager, he inspected the phone and assured me that the issue would be rectified under warranty, ostensibly approving the necessary work.
However, after a protracted 10-day wait for the replacement screen to arrive, I returned to the store, only to be informed by an employee that the phone could no longer be repaired under warranty due to alleged "screen damage." This claim was unfounded, as I had never dropped the phone, and the white line had appeared spontaneously. If the phone was indeed damaged, why had the warranty been approved and a replacement screen ordered in the first place?
To compound the frustration, during the unsuccessful repair attempt, one of their employees managed to misplace my phone case. Now, not only has the phone gone unrepaired, but I am also awaiting a refund for my lost phone case. The sheer lack of professionalism, accountability, and competence displayed throughout this entire ordeal is unacceptable. I would strongly caution anyone against trusting this establishment with their...
