Food took 3 hours to make after I called the order in. We were initially told the order would take an hour to make bc the kitchen was backed up. We were happy to wait the hour as we were very excited that IHOP finally opened in Middletown. My husband called back several times to check the status of the order and after 2 hours decided to swing by the restaurant to which he found a half filled restaurant when we expected the place to be packed out. Even after a 2 hour wait, he was told at numerous times that the order was either being bagged up in the back, was next in line in the kitchen and that the manager was making our order as a priority. So many inconsistencies- we should’ve known better. We were charged full price and received no apology for our wait. When my husband arrived home, I found that our order was incomplete. So I drove back to the restaurant to ask for the remainder of our order. When I advised the manager that our order which took 3 hours to make was incomplete, he stated that they had to make the order twice because no one arrived to pick it up. I explained that simply wasn’t true and that my husband had called several times to check on the status of our food before deciding to go to the restaurant in person. I didn’t appreciate the need to even make such comments bc after I explained myself, he replied with “oh, is that what happened?” and went back to get the remainder of my items. Why mislead when you weren’t even clear on the circumstances? While waiting for my food items, I overheard people leaving after sitting for hours and never receiving their food or frustrations over waiting to check out after a long visit. I did receive an apology along with the rest of my food items. However, we don’t plan to return to this location. We absolutely love IHOP and have been long time customers for years. We have never experienced anything like this with the restaurant chain. This location seems poorly run. You have a half filled restaurant yet people are waiting for hours for their food. And lastly, the lack of urgency to remediate the issue left me...
Read moreI ate at this new IHOP two days ago. I had to wait until now to write the review as I didn't want to review on emotions. Both my wife and I are self employed chefs. When we first walked in we thought the place was closed because there was nobody in the establishment including the workers, I even went as far as to walk to the kitchen to look through the door and it was deserted as well. We waited 10 minutes before an employee finally came in and seated us. My wife ordered an omlette and I ordered the quick decision breakfast as well as I also ordered a bourbon jam burger. As we were the only ones in there after waiting for almost 50 minutes the server comes out and tells us they were looking everywhere for the bourbon jam sauce and couldn't find it. I said just make it a regular burger then. It took them an hour and twenty minutes to make that little bit of food. While waiting for our food another couple came in and waited 15 minutes for someone to seat them and the server was outside on his personal cell phone on a personal call, very unprofessional. The folks that where waiting abandoned hope and walked out. Now for the food, omlette was so overcooked my wife had to put ketchup on it to make it edible, My bacon and sausage was so dry and rock hard you could chip a tooth on it. When I spoke to the manager about it, she said that the bacon and sausage is cooked in the morning and placed in a heater cabinet all day, and it was at 8 pm we were eating. The manager further explained that they have only been open 3 months, and that none of the staff has been properly trained. There is clearly an absence of leadership, training, and customer care or service. While the manager did reduce the bill which she said is a common practice because of all the above listed reasons, we still will never return and will discourage others from eating there. Very disappointing, they won't be...
Read moreThe waitress was terrible. She took our order, coffee was ordered, when the coffee came, no cup or creamers provided. Had to wait 5 minutes to get a cup. No utensils or napkins were provided. When the food came, she forgot to bring the toast, could not find her to tell her, she brought it by the time we were ready to go. Hash browns were extremely salty when i told the waitress no salt on any of the food ordered. She told me oh they dont do that. Well apparently they do. Needed a refill on my water but she shows up when we just want the check to leave and ask if we want a refill. Hollandaise sauce was ordered, it tasted like melted butter. The sampler was ordered, the tenders were overcooked and very hard to bite. Again no water to wash it down. Other employees were talking about unprofessional things and one lady was booty dancing. Overall worst I Hop i had ever been to. Upon leaving out the manager showed up and asked how it was and we told her not good. She did try to make admends for what happened but honestly i was over it and just wanted to leave. I only stopped because i was not feeling well and needed to eat something. She was very nice but her employees were terrible. After paying for our food the waitress seemed upset that i gave her a $3 tip. Quite frankly, she did not earn any of it but her attitude at the end made me want to snatch it back, but im not that petty so i let it be. She should not be waitressing, she knows nothing about the job or could use she intense training on how to be a waitress and etiquette.$41 spent on...
