Pho 170 — Restaurant in Middletown

Had such a bad experience we left before we even ordered. First of all the staff looked irritated that we even walked in. No greeting at all. Just gestured for us to sit. Not even a tiny bit of friendliness or even basic acknowledgment. The waitress was sitting down eating when we came in which is fine cuz they had no customers so I didn’t care that she was having a break. BUT she kept smacking and licking her lips as she was handing us our menus and proceeded to BELCH LOUDLY right next to our table. It was disgusting!! There was also somehow a person covered in a blanket having a nap on what appeared to be some kind of bench in front of the main desk/bar. Socks out, just sleeping. It was the strangest, most off putting and downright disgusting experience. After I noticed the sock footed bench napper, we just left. Will never step foot in there again. I cannot fathom how on earth this place has such good reviews!!!! We love Thai and Vietnamese food so we were so excited to try this place. We came in around 2:30 so they were well into being open for the day. Absolutely no reason to not be ready for customers and no reason to be so gross and unfriendly! I’ve been to crappy restaurants before but I have never NEVER had to walk out before...

Was planning on having Indian food next door then randomly decided to give this place a try with the family. My father is a known chef and can be a huge critic of any restaurant we go too. Not only was he stunned at the great service, price but ultimately the food was outstanding. I read another post that it's pricey, but that is absolutely not true. We had a group of 6, ordered 4 apps, drinks, fruit drinks and all our main courses and the total didn't exceed 100 dollars. My entire family raved and laughed on how our evening played out but so thankful we gave pho 170 a try. The food is fresh, healthy and very tasty. We have now made PHO 170 at least a biweekly family meal and it's shocking the fact that my father brings them up first when we decide to eat out or do take out. You won't believe how reasonable the price is, the quality of the food, size of each portion and the staff. It's kids friendly and very casual seating. I am visiting the town so, I looked up the restaurant with most reviews to go. I love Vietnamese food, but what is this, man I was so disappointed, I glanced back twice to see if the restaurant workers were actually Vietnamese.

I ordered 3 plates for myself, they were all wack. 1 Bahn mi, omg, bread soggy, zero crunchy. Fresh rolls, bruh the peanut sauce was so bad, it looked it they had it sitting in a corner for years and the ingredients of the sauce are separating like bad milk. This one hurt my soul kz I love peanut sauce. But the rolls were good but rolls without sauce is lifeless. Rice with Pineapple, boyy, I put one full chopstick in my mouth and I had spit it out, and started picking pineapple out of the rice kz it was bad. You can taste the fruit had been open for days and it was now going bad, it tasted like you would be in a toilet if you finish that, so I picked all the pineapple out of the rice before I ate kz I am not here...
