Middlesex YMCA — Local services in Middletown

I enjoyed the YMCA in Middletown 3 years ago. While I gave an awesome review before, this one is the opposite. For the past month, I have not been able to enjoy the facilities in a way that I'm comfortable. I pay $75 for the FitPlus Membership, mostly because I like to be in my zone and access to the entrance is right there. Also, privacy is important too. The woman's locker room is always nasty. There's black mold in every shower. The second curtain to the left has mold going up and the same gunk is always in the shower, which means they're not cleaned. There's never any towels, and today there was no disinfectant in the area. Also, the jacuzzi is nasty as hell. Mold is on surrounds it and people get into it without showering. Two weeks ago I entered it because im suffering from joint pain, so I use it from time to time nd there was dirt on the ledge. I won't get into the pool because I've witnessed men walking in from the street with outside gear on, go straight to it. I'm currently in the process of looking for a new gym. Cancelled my membership over a year ago, found out today they're still charging me $34.00 a month!!! I call today and they offer a 1-month refund... They say, "you can't cancel over the phone, you must cancel in person", well surprise surprise they cancelled my membership over the phone today when I made a little fit over it considering I moved from Connecticut to California, oh they also said that my account had no notes, which means the person I spoke to cancel my membership previously just listened to what I had to say and did nothing else with that cancellation request, not even an account note explaining the reason for the call!!!! I left their supervisor a voicemail, waiting for a call back to see what resolution they have and then will update my review accordingly.

As I write tears are falling from eyes. I have two children who attended the preschool program. However yesterday there was incident and when I say incident I mean racial. They blocked the exit from my children getting inside the classroom, the teacher than grabbed my 3 year old sons arm not allowing him to enter inside the classroom. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, I seen how confused my son looked, I pray no other mother or father has to witness there children scared or confused at school. The teacher aid was still holding onto my sons arm as she was looking for direction onto what she should do my son was crying at this time because he was confused onto what is going on. Which was not acceptable by any means, she had no right to grab my sons arm. And this all came about because I thought the preschool was operating on a 2hour delay. My children no longer go there!!
