I was really excited to try this place because I've heard great things and the reviews are amazing but I didn't even get the chance because the service was so off-putting. My father and I walked in at 6pm tonight and all the chairs were up on the tables and the girl working behind the counter was sweeping and I thought they were about to close. There was a family finishing up their meal in the dining area and one other gentleman waiting for what looked like a to-go order. We approached the counter and the girl didn't even acknowledge us, turned around and walked off. When she came back, she stood there staring at us, no hello, no smile, no nothing. I asked if we could dine-in and she said yes like she was annoyed. We were reviewing the menu and she just stared at us impatiently waiting for us to order. Like I said we had never been there before and wasn't sure how it all worked. I asked if there was personal size pizzas and she abruptly said "no". I guess my dad could feel her vibes and said "well you go finish what you were doing, give us a minute to look over the menu." She rolled her eyes turned around and walked off. I looked at my dad and said "I don't really feel welcome here maybe we should go somewhere else" and he said "I completely agree with you it definitely seems like she does not want us to be here." So we turned around and left. I'm usually not one to complain, I understand sometimes people are just having a bad day and I usually ignore it but this girl was just so off-putting and you could absolutely tell she didn't want us to be there and she probably didn't want to be there either and I wasn't about to spend money on a meal where I was going to feel rushed (they dont close till 9pm according to the front door) and uncomfortable the entire time I ate it. Would still love to try the pizza but next time I will definitely be ordering it dine out or better yet, food delivery service so I dont have to walk in...
Read moreI would love to see Dru to tell him all this but have not been able to catch him at the store. I called your number to order a pizza and was already in the car headed your way but I never could get anyone to answer. After ten minutes of being on hold the call just disconnected. Being the patient person I am, I called again. Exact same results, except this time it disconnected right as I pulled into the parking lot of the store. I walked in and there were three employees standing around the register. I asked if they ever answered the phone and she said it went to a service center now instead of the store itself. As I business owner I get using a service, however, after so many minutes of not answering why did it not just roll over to the store automatically? Unfortunately, this has now happened twice where I just cannot get anyone to answer the telephone so I may place an order. I just started going back to the hut again, because I do not know how else I can get the store if they are only going to use a service. Love this place. Love their Calzones. Best homemade ranch ever. Great service. But if I cannot place an order, I cannot attest to that any more. Sorry this has happened because I definitely love Dru and am happy he was able to take over the business. Good luck.
ADDENDUM: Dru read my review and emailed me right away. What a sweetheart. He explained what to do and the problem and it is all worked out. I thus updated my rating because Frankly this is the best pizza around. Cannot wait to try...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at MD Pizza in Midland, Texas, and it was an absolutely amazing experience. From the moment I walked in, the welcoming ambiance and friendly staff set the stage for what turned out to be a fantastic meal.
I decided to try their Detroit-style pizza, and it did not disappoint. The first pizza I had was topped with a generous amount of pepperoni, and it was perfection. The pepperoni was perfectly crispy, complementing the thick, cheesy base that had a wonderfully crispy edge. Each bite was a delightful mix of flavors and textures, with the cheese stretching just the right amount and the sauce providing a tangy balance.
The second pizza I tried was their classic cheese and tomato sauce pizza. It had the same deliciously thick crust with those signature crispy edges. The cheese was gooey and melted to perfection, while the tomato sauce had a fresh, vibrant flavor that really stood out. The seasoning was spot on, making every bite a pleasure.
What truly set MD Pizza apart was the quality of the ingredients and the care put into making each pizza. It’s clear that they take pride in their craft, and it shows in the final product. The crust was perfectly baked, the toppings were fresh, and the overall flavor was incredible.
Overall, I highly recommend MD Pizza to anyone in the Midland area. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by and enjoy some of the best pizza you’ll ever have. I know I’ll be...
