I first want to start off that the the pie used to make me very happy with their vegan options. My family went and saw the Christmas lights downtown, before leaving we ordered a pie and some cheese pull aparts. After quoted a 35 minute time we showed up about that time. My wife went in to pay and after my children fell asleep in the car in the parking and 40 minutes after the time quoted we played for the pie and was given a pie for a future visit. Next visit. Shopping at fashion place we were thinking of going to give the pie another chance since we had the pie option from the last catastrophe. We order the pie as well as some cheese pullaparts and a pitcher of rootbeer and 2 orders of wings. We were all hungry. We were quoted a time of 25 minutes. It took us about 10 minutes to get there from the mall. We sat down and poured our rootbeer out. The wings were the first to arrive after about 15 minutes of being there. Perfect that's the 25 minutes we were quoted. My children dont eat wings due to the spiciness of them. After another 15 minutes I went to check on the other food and to see about a refill. I was told they would be out momentarily and we would be charged full price for a refill. I refused the refill and my children finished the soda. Another 10 minutes went by and my wife went to check on the food and then was given the exact same response about the cheese pull aparts, they were 2 minutes away. Keeping to that they were hard and over cooked on the outside and not melted on the inside... rushed I would say. After we finished the pull aparts and my children still hungry I went to tell whomever was in charge the complete dissatisfaction of our experience. She then said it was her fault and she lost track of time. Knowing I have come to inquire about a refill she then did nothing. I explained what had happened and why we had the free pie on our account. Which obviously meant nothing nor set an expectation for their performance. 1 hour after after we ordered and was quoted a time of 25 minutes she then brings out the pie and drops in on our rack. Literally drops it and I say thank you and she walks away as if I did something wrong. I pull the first slice and once again cheese not melted and cold to the touch. If she would've asked how things were or checked in with us it would've been one thing. I had to return the pie not dropping it like she did but explaining the pie was cold. She acknowledged that and simply said "give me a second" standing there for a moment I walked away with my pie still sitting on the counter. After another 10 minutes my wife had to go check on the pie and just had it boxed up for us to leave. I dont know if this is the manager training but feel it lacks in experience and customer service. Back to back terrible experiences for a company we recommend due to the vegan menu they offer. We have searched menus after menus due to our the dietary restrictions we will continue to search and will no longer pass your company on to the people we come across. I have never have been treated so poorly and you have lost a...
Read moreI am from NYC so my taste in pizza is a reflection of this East coast pizza whether from NYC or the surrounding area is mostly similar especially in the tri state area I am open to all pizza except thick crust Sicilian style I have lived the last 16 years in Salt Lake City UT I didn't expect to be able to find a "proper" good pizza here of course I was hoping to find something "relatively" good and actually edible as such NO SUCH LUCK I know different geological locations represent their pizza as authentic most calling their version "delicious" and "the best" "The Pie" claims they are "voted number one" by somebody I tried it years ago and truthfully found it hard to believe their "version" can even be called an authentic pizza HORRIBLE I mean virtually inedible! One must have no concept of what real pizza is to be able to actually eat their product AND ENJOY IT LOL... So today I was very hungry and decided to give it another try so many years later I ordered 2 slices to go One was a "meat" slice the other one a "cheese" slice Both were an undercooked gob of cheese with NO HINT of a tomato flavor! The "meat" version had what I can identify as a few pieces of sausage and a few pieces of meatball on top I took a bite and immediately the entire WAD of cheese (I mean a 1/2" thick GOB covering the entire slice) pulled off and fell on my lap... Oh - that's pepperoni UNDER THE CHEESE ON TOP OF THE CRUST! Who ever came up with this idea LOL? So under the HUGE WAD of cheese now on my lap I am looking at the remaining crust in my hand NOT A HINT OF TOMATO SAUCE - LIKE MAYBE A SPOONFUL SPREAD ON THE TOP LAYER OF CRUST! So basically a very undercooked soft "puffy" triangle... GROSS! So I pulled off a corner of the cheese WAD on my lap and ate it Is this really "the best"? We wouldn't get this much cheese on the East Coast if we ordered it WITH extra cheese lol! So I threw it in the parking lot as it was really sickening! Took the other slice home for later I just took it out of the refrigerator and was going to microwave it for dinner Cold it was a solid plank of hard cheese like half an inch thick I decided to take my fork and "peel off" some of the cheese and see what showed underneath it The whole layer came off in one shot There was BARELY A HINT OF TOMATO SAUCE on top of a slippery wet undercooked crust Into the garbage it went.... With a small tip those two slices of "pizza" cost me $10.00! Anyway I'm not sure how anyone can even eat this garbage let alone consider it good lol! Different culture here in Salt Lake City UT! I can only imagine what they would think if they ever had a REAL PIECE...
Read moreI've tried all sorts of gluten free pizza in the valley since my body started to reject gluten almost exactly 2 years ago. Nothing has impressed me frozen, delivery or takeout. It was always the same cracker crust that had no flavor, or the taste was completely off. As long as it tastes like pizza dough, thin crust or not, then I was accepting of it.
The last time I went to the Pie was in 2015. It was the last time I ate pizza and drank beer that had gluten in it, without a worry. Ever since then, I've been careful at avoiding gluten and my digestive system has been reacting like it should. Once I had a bad reaction, I counted the Pie out since they didn't have a gluten free menu at the time.
I just went in with my wife today and it blew our minds. The gluten free pizza was amazing. I have been trying to have a good hot dog, hamburger, pizza, sandwich, burrito....anything since my body stopped accepting gluten. I was in shock at how damn good this pizza crust was. It was thin crust, but hell....the flavor of the pizza told my mind that thin crust was awesome at this point. It was the first time I had thin crust and enjoyed it. It was the first time in 2 years I had a damn pizza and loved it! My wife even had half of the pizza and loved it!!
I can't wait to try the gluten free cheese...
