The bartender concurred after a taste test. Giving the benefit of the doubt, I opted for McCallan 12 years. Yet again, the taste did not match my expectations. To be certain, I had my son purchase a bottle of McCallan from a nearby store. A comparative tasting revealed a noticeable difference, which the bartender acknowledged.
While my intention was to shed light on potential issues with their supplier, I was taken aback by the reaction of a senior staff member, who appeared to be from the management. Rather than appreciating the feedback, she seemed perturbed.
As for the food, the Gobi Manchurian did not meet my expectations. The most surprising was the 'Ma Ki Daal' (or 'Dal Makhani' for some), which sported an unusual red hue, unlike its traditional preparation.
