(My brother's experience this week) I’m a Hilton Honors Diamond member and experienced the worst hotel stay of my entire life. I checked into Hampton Inn Milpitas on 11/11 thru 11/14. On 11/13 at 11:15pm, I returned to my room to find raw sewage had come out of the sink (not the toilet) and filled the entire bathroom floor - wall to wall. There was what looked like fecal matter pouring off the counter like a waterfall. When it spewed out of the sink, it covered all my belongings on the bathroom sink and some clothes on the floor.
The staff couldn’t clean up the mess that night and they wouldn’t get me a new room nor find me a room at another hotel. The evening staff didn't know how to respond to such an emergency. Their first response was "I'll go get some gloves". I said "uh, this is going to take a WHOLE LOT more than gloves and several hours. I just need a new room so I can go to bed". I said "if there's ever a time to wake up a manager, now is the time." They said "we're not waking anyone up.". I wasn't given a new room and they obviously couldn't clean that mess at 11pm at night. My options were to sleep in my car or sleep in a room with several gallons of raw sewage. I had to wait until the next day to get a new room. Also, I never heard from hotel general manager even after emailing him with pictures.
My clothes on the floor in the bathroom and my toiletries were ruined. I lost a night’s sleep because I didn’t have anywhere to go other than my car. On top of that, the hotel still charged me for the night and didn’t offer to cover replacement cost of the ruined items in the bathroom. To “make it right”, the hotel gave me points only good enough for 1 free night somewhere. It was utterly insulting. If this is how a Hilton Hotels & Resorts Diamond member is treated, I pity Hilton guests with no status.
Ill be avoiding this hotel and I recommend anyone that stays here to avoid room 103. Maybe it’s haunted.. 🙂 The Crowne is right next door and the Sheraton is only a couple of miles down. I’d try there first.
P.S. I think it’s hilarious when you can see the ice bucket emblazoned with “Hampton Inn” sitting on a counter full of poo. Classic... Since the hotel instructed me to stay in that room with all the raw sewage still present, this sounds like a health violation so I submitted a report to the Santa Clara County Dept of Environmental Health. That’s for...
Read moreTERRIBLE product. We called the Hampton Inn Milpitas front desk at 3:44pm to ask about a rollaway bed for our 3 adult 2 child reservation of a 2-queen bed room. We also informed the front desk agent that we had already checked in online. We were told that they had rollaway beds available and we tried to settle payment over the phone. The agent then told us that we could handle it when arrive.
We arrived around 7pm and were told by the same agent that the rollaway beds were first-come first-serve and that all of them (2) were already claimed. We simply cannot sleep 5 people in the 2 beds. We contacted the Hilton Diamond Desk for support and were told that he would escalate the issue to the manager and we should expect a response within 24-48 hours. We expected to in bed within 3-4 hours. A manager response would not come in time to fix our sleeping arrangements.
In addition, our room did not include a round dining table. We have had to take chairs and an ottoman from the lounge area to arrange a makeshift bed for our 5th family member.
Also, our door security lock engaged with no one in the room. Staff have known this to be an issue and still were unable to help. We had to figure out a way to do it ourselves.
Lastly, my Honors benefit should have included a bottle of water and “one snack item.” No snack items were offered nor available.
This experience has been wholly unacceptable.
Update (upgraded to 2 stars): front desk manager Amanda explained that the agent who spoke with us will need retraining and that rollaways shouldn’t have been offered to us because of fire hazard restrictions. That doesn’t explain why they accepted our 5-person reservation for that room. She stated she would inform the manager, who has never bothered to contact us back.
Note to manager: don’t bother asking us to call, unless it is to confirm a refund.
GOOD LUCK if you decide...
Read moreThis room is clean however, as a diamond don’t expect to get an upgrade and as a diamond don’t expect to get a room that’s remodeled and as a diamond don’t expect to get a room that doesn’t have problems.
I found bugs in my room. Dirty tub. Broken down uneven tub floor. My profile asks for highest floor, put on first floor. I found broken tiles in my bathroom. I found Service to be less than adequate. They didn’t refill my shampoo or conditioner during my entire stay. They did not refill my tissues while I was here and they did not service the room every day; only every other day.
Although this property is certainly tolerable and if all you’re looking for is sleep, it’s not bad, but they don’t have any concession shop for snacks, they only have a vending machine. It takes a credit card, but the soda machine which is also vending machine does not take a credit card so if you don’t have cash, you’re not getting a soda or any other type of a drink. Their breakfast is average with all the other Hampton Inn’s.
What wasn’t tolerable is the caliper of guests that stay here. Likely not an ongoing problem but the construction crew here, possible part of the remodel, flirt with the front desk clerk continuously every day at 6am. So if you get breakfast from 6-6:30 you will have to endure this endless flirtation at fulfill volume between a middled aged, inappropriate, construction worker and what appears to be an 18-19 year old female employee.
Look elsewhere. Multiple...
