Why didn't I discover this place sooner?!
Amazing food and stellar service! I finally got to try this place on a Saturday afternoon with my boyfriend. He had been to the sunnyvale location but he has yet to try this one. I don't normally have this type cuisine and I'm missing out because it's so delicious :( The restaurant was super busy when we arrived. Luckily, we were able to sit down within 5 minutes because a table just finished eating.
The server helping us was super nice, he gave me great recommendations and paid attention to us even though he had so many other tables to serve. He was super attentive and it made the dining experience even better! On his recommendation, I order the Tika Kebab and then my boyfriend got the beriana. We also got a mango juice and an appetizer order of babaghanoush.
baba ghanoush: tasty and the consistency was great. There was a good amount of flavor and it went well with the complimentary naan we got.
Tika Kebab: DELICIOUS. The meat was super tender and it had so much flavor. I didn't even dip it in the lime sauce they had, I wanted to try it without anything first and it already tasted great, with the sauce even better. I couldn't get enough of it! The brussel sprouts were also really tasty since they roasted it!
Beriana Dajaj: This dish was also really good. The chicken was tender and moist from the sauce. The dish was creamy so it was a little too heavy for me.
Mango juice: sweet and refreshing!
I cannot wait to come back again! this place really exceeded my...
Read moreWorth the wait. I'm sure that this is not the first 5 star for this place or praises of how great the dishes are. I'm putting this place at the very top of my list for "grilled lamb". Even the lamb hater in our group got converted to liking it. Back to the beginning, this place must be popular since the wait time is pretty long and the food must be pretty good. When it was our turn to be seated, nearly half of our group of 5 wanted to sit outside vs inside. The person responsible for seating us said "we can accommodate you either way without any additional wait time". This set a tone of "no rush/very attentive to our need". The bread and dipping sauce were endless, my ice tea was bottomless, there was never an empty plate (taken away when you're finished with it), and we never had the need to call for attention. The bread and all the way to the coffee were an adventure for your taste buds (I would like to describe how wonderfully tasting everything were, but I'm not writing a novel length review). The staff were very friendly, accommodating, and very interactive with our group. Even the manager brought us other sauces to experiment with and compared favorite dishes from other restaurants. They really made us feel at home. The cost is "not for the faint of heart" but well worth the money for your experience (in taste buds...
Read moreThe quality of service and truthfulness of the management leaves something to be desired.
We made prior reservations and planned to celebrate a no frills birthday dinner. During the reservation we informed them of the birthday and put in a request for a better table. When we arrived, despite the restaurant being less than a quarter occupied at peak dinner time, they gave us perhaps the worst table in the restaurant and put us in a claustrophobic section of small tables where we had trouble even getting seated.
As the table would not work for us, we requested if we could switch tables to a booth and received confirmation that the booths were available. However, the manager on duty who was later made aware of our request reneged and was adamant that we sit at the table they brought us to earlier. This manager provided excuses like the restaurant was completely fully booked and claimed that there were no tables available whatsoever aside from the one they brought us to earlier. It was clear to us that the manager was lying as the other employees were completely dumbfounded by these statements that contradicted their own. Finally, the manager took a take it or leave it stance, so we opted to leave it and look for a different restaurant (on my birthday no less).
I recommend you look elsewhere like I did for an...
