Casa Azteca Mexican Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Milpitas

This is (not sure if it's always been, but it is now at least) one of those white people Mexican restaurants. You know how they say you can tell how good a restaurant is by what kind of people are eating there.. well yea. I had hope, the chips were good but the salsa wasn't spicy. The drinks were very yummy! I got a margarita and my fiancé got a michelada. The servers were very nice and had great service. Our only bad review is on the food itself. I ordered the chile rellenos and my fiancé ordered the camarones a la diabla. I only have a picture of my food but the beans on both orders come with yellow American cheese (neither of us have seen this before). The sauce my chile rellenos were in was a brown color.. the taste was alright. The sauce on the camarones a la diabla was chunky and also discolored from what we are used to. The rice was good but it tasted like microwave rice. Overall, if you want real authentic Mexcican food, this might not be your place. If you like watered down, Americanized Mexican food, then this is your spot! I understand restaurants have to accommodate for their customers and the majority in their region so maybe this is what...

Had the pleasure of working with Prabin in setting up a 27-person luncheon. Prabin was prompt with responses via email and made things very easy. Our menu was personalized to read ‘Merry Xmas’ with our company name and they offered so many options (6-7 combos), with salad, beans, rice and a non-alcoholic beverages on the side; dessert was paid for separately.

The food was good and portions large. The service was beyond superb. Oswaldo was our server and even with a larger group, he was fast and attentive.

This restaurant has a side room if you prefer to be away from the dining area. It allows for closer interaction with your party. There was another group there at the same time we were, in the same room but on the other end. It was never too loud. I think this room can have up to 50-60 but it’s an elongated room, so you’re looking at a LONG TABLE and not rounds.

Parking can be challenging but there’s a retail center next door that you park at as well.

We will definitely be back for another event one of these days. Thanks Prabin...

Poor service. Miss after miss after miss. And they automatically added 18% tips plus tax on top of it. Won’t be coming back here.

Edit: to help provide more constructive feedback I will elaborate given that the restaurant is not owning up. First, note how the restaurant fails to take ownership and instead attacks the customer in their response below.

Kids were completely ignored. We had to repeatedly ask for water, plates, utensils for the kids. They kept forgetting to bring things. So we had to keep asking again and again.

This happened for dessert too. We wanted to see the dessert menu. Asked at least twice. Nothing. So we gave up on desserts.

When time to pay, again I had to get up and personally go hand my card to someone. I went to the counter and the guy said not here. So found someone else that took my card. Then, I waited for quite some time until the person that took my card noticed I was still waiting at the door and went to personally process my payment.
