I can see what all the hype is all about... The high ratings are very justified. The food was very good. A solid 4* rounded up to 5** for value as well.
New to the Milpitas Noodle Scene. I think Super Potato opened a few months ago... I believe the grand opening was sometime in June. A good sized venue that is well staffed. With plenty of spaces available at Calaveras Plaza Shopping Center, parking is not an issue. Once you enter, you are greeted in Mandarin. No issues with the service; we hardly interacted with the staff, as orders were through the QR code. Food came out promptly and we flagged down somebody whenever we needed anything.
#SendNoods: ~ Super Potato - 4/5 Crispy Fried Potatoes with a touch of spices. I'm not sure what spices were used. These were tasty without being too spicy, more on the mild side.
~ Classic Potato Noodles w/ Beef - 5/5 A perfect hearty bowl of Soup with those Chewy Potato Noodles! Brilliant!! Perfect size portions...not too filling and they didn't skimp on anything. The flavor was amazing. Brilliant balance of Savory and slightly spicy deliciousness...
~ Three Meat W/ Rice - 4.5/5 & w/ side of Extra Noodles Wow! Talk about generous portions. This is for two or three people. It's big! My leftovers looked like a meal all by itself. The Pork was so tender and flavorful. The Chili and spices on the dish were perfect, I didn't fell like I needed to add anything. The Sausage was OK, nothing stood out about it.
I can't wait to try the rest of...

Known for their potato noodles, I got the non spicy Seafood Noodles and my shellfish intolerant hubs, the slightly spicy Beef Potato Noodles, but it also has lots more to offer.
Wanting to get the full experience, we chose 1-2 items in each category. We started from the specialty snacks with the sweet and spicy super potato and the potato tower. Surprisingly I liked the super potato more as the ketchup and mustard adding a Western flair distracted from the potatoes.
From Smoked and braised delicacies we got the tripe and small roasted chicken. The chicken seemed more smoked than roasted so would try the pig ears instead next time.
Those refreshing fruit teas like passion mango and mulberry and bayberry can be made so much cuter with the addition of a bear ice for an extra 50 cents.
Their rice plates from their staple food is more like a rice platter, than a rice plate. This chicken drumstick and thigh rice platter comes with a bowl of soup and enough non meat sides (vegetable, bean curd, shredded potato, half a hard boiled egg) that you can even share with a vegetarian.
With most of the staff and diners speaking Mandarin, I almost felt like...
Read moreWe came here to celebrate a friend's birthday. Unfortunately the biggest group they can accommodate per table is 8, so we had to split up into multiple table.
Nonetheless the restaurant was clean and well lit, ordering was via a site online, so it was easy and efficient, especially since they have free wifi at the restaurant.
We got multiple potato noodles so to try different broths. The spicy and sour was interesting but an acquired taste, the tomato one was tomato-y and not spicy at all, while the beef stews were rich and on the spicier side (even the medium spicy one was kind of spicy). I definitely liked the spicier beef stews better, but if you're weak to spice, it's probably better to stick to the tomato one.
The potato noodles were super chewy and fun to eat! The portion size was good as is, but they also allow for additional free refills of noodles...
