"I wish I could say four and a half."
Greetings Chick and Tea in Milpitas! Well, I tried out working as a Cashier, but it is great to be reviewing as a local guide to guide those whom have not came here. Now, let's go with first going into the door. I enjoyed going in. It looked clean, fresh, and staff well above and beyond with cleaning the interior and being friendly. For me, it looks like an average cafe look. Now, let's go onto the food and drinks.
Today, I have chosen the Fried Squid Rice Plate as well as a Fresh Lemon Tea (Less Ice, 50% Sugar, and Boba which was an additional half a dollar). First the drink, and trust me on this. I technically got my mind blown away by the drink itself. Drink did not get watered down easily because of the less ice. Compare this with how much ice A+ Hong Kong Cafe gives out for their ice cold drinks. This gives so much leeway for toppings. I wish they given out toppings there. Sweet and sour mixed together so good. It's like the sweet and sour sauce that McDonald's have, but in a drink! I WOULDN'T REGRET HAVING THIS AGAIN! I like how the 50% sugar and boba balances out its sugar content, giving the drink 100% sugar. Onto the next topic, which is the Fried Squid Rice Plate. I LOVE IT in all of its wonderfulness. The fried squid was crispy the first time you bite into it. Next is the rice and I like how it was topped with the meat. It's amazing. Additionally, there is a few huge cubes of tofu. Adding onto that is the one egg that gives enough protein than one person will need, so I do not know how it balances out on a plate full of what you already have. The vegetables is great for color. Sprinkle on the mild spice powder, and you get a kick in the palette. Wham Baam that's an awesome plate man! However, I probably would add a bit extra vegetables because it is a bit way too much protein than what you already have...
Read moreThis was my 3rd time trying chick & tea. I went twice to the Milpitas location and once to this location. After going to the milpitas location twice I decided it's not just an off day for the restaurant. They're really just not my cup of tea. (I know punny) Anyway, this location was closer to me and it was brand new so I decided to give it a shot. I ordered the B4 (pork chop bento) and the Original Milk Tea.
The pork chop bento had a sweet ground pork on the rice which ruined my appetite. It really just tasted like dessert rice. The pork chop was very dry. Flavor was good, but really dry pork. Almost like jerky.
The milk tea was should be called milk.. because that's all I tasted. I didn't taste any tea at all.
I think my chick & tea adventures are over. After trying the third time in a different location, I think my previous conclusion was true. Not my...
Read moreCan't say I enjoyed the meal there. Went with a couple of people who were craving for boba tea and came here based on reviews. I couldn't smell or taste the passion fruit in my passion fruit tea with lychee jelly. Tastes like tea with lychee syrup. We also ordered a couple of dishes plus popcorn chicken. Instead of cucumbers as the side dish like it showed in the picture, we got tofu instead. The tofu tasted off so we didn't finish it. Popcorn chicken was ok. Large portion. For the price we paid, it was a disappointing stop. I think we will skip this place the next time we are...
