Orange Square — Restaurant in Milpitas

Horrible management/ownership at this Milpitas location during opening week. I was super excited to try this place since I’ve heard good reviews at their Santa Clara location.

I placed the order in store at 12:48PM for the marinated pork chop square and braised pork belly square. Saw several people ordered after me already got their orders. I complained after 30mins wait and was told my order would be ready in 10mins. I waited another 10mins and still didn’t receive my order yet. I waited for another 5mins then asked to cancel my order to get the refund. Magically my order was ready… by this time I’ve waited almost an hour for a meal I no longer look forward to. My friend told about this place and found out that it recently opened. It is very quiet inside and seemingly most people do takeout orders. This is actually my first time trying Taiwanese food besides the hot pot one I went.

I really like the food here and prices are reasonable. When I ordered the pot roasted beef brisket, the serving was huge that I ate almost half of it. Also the bento, funny how they gave me a small single piece of spaghetti meatball. Everything else is fresh especially the vegetables. Beef brisket is easily pulled off and quite chewy. I also just want to try the classic boba since I want to get a taste of how their boba tastes like.

I am also surprised that the service is fast because I thought that beef brisket takes a while to prepare, but wow, they got it done, which is way more than I expected. I’ll come back again...

This place brings back all my childhood memories. It’s in the same plaza as 九牛, and it’s a chain with several locations in South Bay. Great prices and tons of snacks. Love it!

Popcorn Chicken: Loaded with basil, perfectly fried. You’ve got to try it!

Fried Tofu: Crispy outside, tender inside, with a sweet and savory dip. Amazing!

Sweet Potato Fries: Thick-cut fries with plum powder. So tasty!

Fried King Oyster Mushrooms: Perfect for a low-cal cheat meal. Tastes like meat and smells delicious!
